Got this down in London for my Goddaughter and started reading it. Then I got the app, turned the book back and forth and have been totally charmed.

Another fun adventure with the brothers

The Infamous Ratsos

What a cute little series for early readers. The first book in the series is The Infamous Ratsos and it consists of two brothers who live with their father in the city. Their father Big Lou is tough and they want to be like him so they try to be tough also. They think of ways that they can look tough to others and perform these tasks but unfortunately these tasks backfire on them. Individuals begin to like the brothers and this prompts the brothers to try even harder on their task but nothing is going their way. I thought it was comical reading the brothers antics to achieve this status. Each time they would try harder to be tougher but nothing was working. The ending was great and I loved how this family came together.

In The Infamous Ratsos Are Not Afraid, we have the same brothers Louie and Ralphie from the first novel but now we are introduced to some of their friends. In this novel, the brothers donât want the carnival to end so they decide to create their own carnival with help from their friends. They can get their supplies in a lot in their neighborhood that is piled high with junk but there is a problem. Next to that lot is a Haunted House! The brothers see movement in one of the windows in that house which scares them but before their carnival can open, someone will have to see what is inside that old, mysterious house. I enjoyed seeing their friends helping out getting the carnival ready and taking an active part in the games. I enjoyed the brothers in this novel as they had fun, they had to handle some challenging situations and they worked together. This was a fun, entertaining book that had me laughing as these friends discovered the world outside their doors.

Interesting to listen.

An interesting adventure and mystery audiobook! This story is very unique and exciting so I shared this audible book to my friends. They liked it too!

BEST AUDIO BOOK

What a great childrens book that you can learn moral values from. I listened to this story first, before letting my son listen to this. I wouldn't want to give him audiobooks that doesn't suit his age. After listening to this book, I quite like the story. I was amazed with the characters and how the reader express his emotions while reading.

Great story line

It was my first time listening to mystery audiobook and I loved it. It was a pretty interesting story of a boy or man who had suspicion with the commissioner of his town. I learned bravery from this book which is really great.

This audiobook is so cool! I cant get over with this. I like any books that is about spies and mysteries. I was a bit sad because its short, but it was worth the time listening to this. I want to listen to more audiobooks like this.

Horrible narration.

My kids and I listen to audiobooks all the time. This was the worst recording of a book we have come across on audible. The female reader had a stilted voice and emphasis on improper words. The chapter ends and beginnings were stated robotically and had obviously been edited in later at a different volume. I would not recommend this book.

At last!

I read Edward Eager's fantasy books forty years ago. The characters in his books read books by E. Nesbit. So I'm enchanted to find that these are real books and I can read them on my Kindle.

However, my Kindle version has no illustrations. Ouch! The Project Gutenberg edition has beautiful line-drawings. It would be lovely to integrate these.

Aside from the missing illustrations, the book was wonderful. Literally, full of wonder: lots of twists that I've never encountered before or since. Dragons both good and evil; princes likewise; unexpected weaknesses and resolutions. Plus a few jokes slipped in for adults (at least, I think they would have gone over my head when I was eight.)

Good reading!

I rated this book in the middle of the scale because it was so slow in catching my interest. I believe it is a good read for middle grade children!

Great

Wonderful book to read with your kids!

I highly recommend this book. My wife checked it out from the library to read with our 7-year-old before bed. She would read one story to him each night while I put our younger child to bed. When I came down he would always excitedly tell me all about the story they had read, including tiny little details. Several times he told my wife "I wish we didn't have to take this back to the library" so she got it for him for his birthday. We couldn't believe how excited he was as he almost started to cry and yelled "My wish came true!" Very enjoyable book.
