Language: English

Release date: 04-11-16

Publisher: Leadstart Publishing Pvt Ltd

Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 7 votes

Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10

Publisher's Summary:

Raja, a golden brown stray mongrel, leads a carefree existence in Shivaji Park, spending his days lying under shady trees and chasing tennis balls. His friend Pakya, a white and black mongrel, happens to be the most feared dog on this side of the park. But, poor Pakya secretly pines for Bianca, a beautiful Golden Retriever, who only has eyes for Hero, a smooth-talking mongrel with a red scarf round his neck.

Tiger Gondhlekar, aka Gattu, an abandoned Labrador who is perpetually hungry, completes the trio. Prashant Pinge's engaging and heartwarming story, depicts the journey of three ordinary stray dogs from Shivaji Park in Mumbai to Sambhaji Park in Pune. Their reasons for undertaking the journey are different, but they are united by their friendship and a common dream, as they confront seemingly insurmountable odds. While the story charts their quest for the giant donut, it also highlights how the dogs overcome their own shortcomings, support each other and register personal victories along the way.

This was an ok kids book.I was not terribly impressed.I was given this book free by the author, narrator or publisher

An Awesome Adventure

"Raja & the Giant Donut" was beyond cute! I listened to the story twice. Once with my granddaughter who loved it and once again with my two cats and Great Dane. We were all thoroughly engrossed. I think this was a true gem. It was a terrific journey for all ages as well as animals. Written by Prashant Pinge, this was a true hit in my house.

Leonor A. Woodworth's performance was outstanding. She has an absolutely warm and soothing voice that made for a top notch listen. Her voice inflections were perfect along with her tone. Very enjoyable and one of my favorite audiobooks.

Adventure and Friendship

Any additional comments?

Cute, fun and entertaining.

Raja and pals set out on a journey to find the worlds largest donut. They each take the journey for different reasons. (with a little nudge from Raja) The 3 friends set out on their adventure and along the way encounter a variety of characters and situations. Some of their adventures include a monkey, a pack of unfriendly dogs, escaping the dog catchers, a stolen vehicle and more.

The heart of the story is about friendship. Each dog learns something and shares something as they work together to reach their goal.

Great book for a road trip with kids.

Leonor A. Woodworth does a great job with the narration. Very pleasant voice, easy to listen to. Great character voices. Perfect voice for narrating audiobooks.

Enjoyable, but disappointed

An enjoyable story. Funny in parts, dramatic in parts. Narrator was excellent. The main dislike is there is unnecessary swearing which ruins the whole thing, especially for children.

No longer I can benfits

Good i am sorry for a fox and stray dog wousp I was bead by one of them

Moving, determined, brilliant.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook which I had originally bought for my children. I realized a little way in it was a bit too old for them, but as I was enjoying it so much I decided to carry on listening.

I was not disappointed and I loved everything about it.

What an excellent story

This is truly a WEE gem of a tale. Motherlessness, fatherlessness, war, love, nature, all the great elements required, and written so compassionately, a wonderful tale.

Title: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Subtitle: The McVentures of Me, Morgan McFactoid

Author: Mark S. Waxman

Narrator: Brian Hatch

Format: Unabridged

Length: 4 hrs and 25 mins

Language: English

Release date: 01-18-16

Publisher: Audible Studios

Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 2 votes

Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10

Publisher's Summary:

Morgan (McFactoid) McCracken spews random (but fascinating) facts whenever he gets flustered. As if that's not enough to warrant getting picked on, Morgan actually has to shave! And that's too much for Brad Buckholtz, a witless bully who constantly beats up Morgan.

As an aspiring inventor, Morgan figures if he can just come up with a product that will stop his facial hair from growing, then Buckholtz will no longer have a reason to pummel him. Besides, eliminating the need to shave will save people time, energy, and money as well as making Morgan wealthy enough to pay off his family's debts and save them from losing their house. With the help of Robin, the beautiful girl who lives next door, as well as an extremely inventive talking parrot, Morgan stumbles upon something potentially much more lucrative - a hair-growing formula. And the bald world literally beats a path to his door.

Overnight, Morgan becomes an international celebrity, entertaining absurdly lavish offers from cosmetics companies. Suddenly everyone wants to be his friend, including Brad Buckholtz. Everyone except the one person he cares about - Robin. She doesn't think there is anything wrong with either having whiskers or being bald. In fact she has always wondered whether people liked her for who she was on the inside or what she looked like on the outside. She would never respect, and she will definitely not support, someone who sells his soul to superficiality.

After escaping formula snatchers and kidnappers, with the insights gained from some well-timed bird poop and one very smart girl, Morgan makes his choice between fame and fortune and his heart's desire.
