This was a gift for a friend. We have so many things in common but our book genre are night and day. I wasn't aware that Audible offered Gift Cards. I do know she enjoyed and read the series, so she is a pretty well rounded and most lovable person..so I'm sure this book is a good read.

Great Christmas Romance - must read

Put on hold all your Christmas shopping and wrapping and parties and pick up this book- a great gift to give yourself because this book is amazingly awesome! I c poo joint put it down and read it straight thru til 4 a.m. !! I wasn't sure if I could read a young widow Romance as I lost my husband in the line of duty 8 years ago and I strictly keep to paranormal romances so as it to emotionally drawn into romance reads- but I took a chance since there's no way in bell I could get the attention of a millionaire - this author has huge insight on the emotions of grieving as a young widow and I loved the way she we wrote the hero helping the books widow with her self doubts and child raising concerns! This is a book I am sure to read again and again

Two people lost marriages come together under very strange circumstances,plus one adorable five year old that will steal your heart.

A fun read!

I loved the book! A very sweet story of finding happiness. I have read the other "Hunt" books. I think the next one is the last and I do hope the author shares how the Hunt sons and Fairchild daughters are doing now.

A recent favorite for me!

Author is exceptional with this story as usual for her writing. I love the characterization, life like situations and closing to the story. Recommend reading for enjoyment.

Happiness for One and All

To really enjoy this book you need to read the first two books in the H hope Springs trilogy. Together they make up one of the best stories I've ever read, and I read a lot. The characters grab your heart and refuse to let go. Lois Greiman puts in enough twists and turns to keep your interest to the end. Then you wish there was more to read.

This is the final book of a series of three.

This is the third and final book of a story about love and life on a ranch in South Dakota. Each book was a worthwhile read and kept your interest throughout! The ending in the third book was somewhat epected but it also was disappointing and a let down. The story, in my opinion, abruptly ended and left you hanging after Cassie asked her love to marry her. Wish there could be another book (or books) as to what happened to all the charters and the paths they followed. Highly suggest that an interested reader start with the first book before reading this one.

I enjoyed all three books in the series and now can't find anything I want to read.

Originally I read and reviewed book 2, Home Fires. I did not find any reference at the time of purchase that there was another book to read first. Now that I have read all 3 the story is complete. This is a good romance series.

Love thru a lot of sex

My overall score would be more like a 3.75. I'm a Rhyannon Byrd fan. And I largely liked this book and will likely read the next book in this series, which I hope is Alex's story. But, I didn't like it as much as I did her paranormal stories. And some of the problems with her paranormal story, especially redundancy, is the reason I don't read ALL of her books. Still I never regret purchasing one of her books.

In this book, there was a lot of redundancy. Things stated too many times in essentially the same way included talk about how Ben loves performing cunnilingus on Reese, how "sexy" Ben and Reese find each other, and how their kisses were "raw and explicit". It got old pretty quickly but didn't completely detract from the story, but that's likely because I give this author a lot of latitude because I'm a fan. And I like sex in my story, and there a plenty of raw sex in this book. And the sex scenes weren't as redundant in their total descriptions as were other aspects of the book. So that was good. And I really liked Reese. The journey to love was not too easy and made sense, though the ending was a bit of a push, an extreme, and not needed, IMO. And the entire relationship, practically, was based on great sex. Of course, this isn't the first book to base romance and forever after on sex. But I'm never a fan of and find it hard to buy HEAs based almost entirely on great sex and great pheromones. So I'm hoping that the stories in this series improve.

Believable characters and an adorable love story.

This book has a perfect balance of passion, angst, heartbreak, healing, friendship and love.

Elsies brother goes away to Afghanistan so she moves into his apartment. Elsie brother has a roommate who just happens to be her brothers best friend and the boy she has loved since she was a kid. Henry has always treated Elsie as a little sister and has never hinted that he saw her as anything more. Her living condition was always meant to be temporary but she soon finds out her brother was killed by a sniper. Elise and Henry are both devastated by Jason's death. They become closer and continue living together for a couple years.Then one night a bold move from Elsie takes their relationship to a whole different level. Henry is finally forced to finally act on his hidden desires. The story was filled with steamy love scenes & a undeniable passion that combusts between Henry and Elsie! Of course, right as they open up and start acting on their feelings for each other, Elsie finds out Henry has been keeping a secret. He is being deployment to Afghanistan, the same place her brother was killed. We get to experience how they deal with their painful separation. I enjoyed this book. This story was very realistic, and I was in turmoil right along with Elsie as she worried about Henry's safety while he was in Afghanistan. Even though this story is told through Elsie's perspective, we did get some of Henry's perspective too. I definitely got emotional at times and needed tissues.This story felt authentic. It dealt with the traumatic effects that soldiers endure after war, and how it effects their loved ones. If you are looking for a sexy, realistic, and fast paced romance, purchase Disarm: The Complete Novel by June Gray.

I thought this book really resonated. We have so many men and women who have lived with so much. And the fallout happens with them and those they love.

A Story for a Hopeless Romatic

I confess to loving romance stories where the guy gets the girl or the girl gets the guy. A spotted this novel and it looked right up my alley for relief from my other listening endeavors. I admit to liking it right from the start. Daphne is a thoroughly likeable right from the start and Gib, although cast with the usual male accoutrements for a novel of this type, is also thoroughly engaging. I particularly like the backdrop of friends and the messages about family. This novel is more about internal change and decision rather than an external obstacle character -- although you meet two bad people, one thoroughly disgusting and the other reprehensible. Luckily, these take up very few minutes of reading. I loved then ending.

Annie Greene did a great job narrating. I recommend this novel. I have not read the earlier ones in the series - maybe I will after this. Give it a go -- it's kind of a Beauty and the Beast for adults.

In the words of Gibson... "Perfect"

I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this story and the performance given by Annie Greene. You did a marvelous job. Especially the accent. Damn, that was gorgeous!

On the other hand, I'm a lover of epilogues, and this book didn't have one, so the only thing about this story I wish was provided is a epilogue. But, all together, it was truly a brilliant story. Almost brought me to tears. Even kept me 'til 2 in the morning just to hear how it ended. Definitely a catch! Try it... you won't be disappointed.

Second Chance Romance

I enjoyed the realistic feel to this book, no unnecessary trials and tribulations. The author has a direct approach to story telling. Combined with diverse characters, emotional connection, and sexual tension, this is a good read. And there's more to come early as other characters find thier HEA.

Nice, short and sweet

If you wanted a nice short story this is it for you. Not much drama and straight to the point. I actually enjoyed it even thou I feel there's some things that are missing. Now off to the next book.

Good Premise, Poor Execution

I had to double-check to see what age the H/h are supposed to be. He's a 40-year old Hollywood heartthrob, she's a 32-year old accountant. Based on their conversations and emotions, I'd have guessed they were about fourteen. Based on the fact that they fall asleep all the time, I'd have guessed they were in their 80s or so. Sleeping seems to be Ms. Hurt's only vehicle for showing the passing of time. I was beginning to think they were suffering the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning from the faulty furnace.

The story's premise is great. Unfortunately, the delivery falls far short. Stilted dialogue, head hopping (often within the same paragraph), juvenile descriptions of emotion, and a general lack of depth make for a disappointing story. Lots of telling, telling, telling. He did this. He did that. He went here. He went there. In one paragraph, I counted four sentences that began with the word he.

On top of that, the basic editing is so poor it's terribly distracting. The author doesn't seem to know the difference between bath and bathe. The sad thing is, her editor doesn't, either. Misused, misplaced, and misspelled words abound. Having a relative as an editor is seldom a good idea.

I hate to be discouraging, but I won't be reading any more of this author's work.

Hoped for better

I like books with an ending. The characters were likeable. I'm sorry but this book was full of errors and head hopping making it a difficult read. The writer would greatly benefit from workshops to improve her writing. An editor would catch these mistakes.

Great Book

I loved this book. Stephanie writes such soft romance books. The contest was a great story line. The way she describes the scenery I love. I live in the south also and love snow.

terrible recording

What disappointed you about Dangerous Love?

there is and echo on recording making it sound like the recording was not done in a recording studio. at times you can actually hear horns honking in the back ground. very distracting while driving and listening. story OK- at times the plot changes very abruptly-hard to follow with narration

I would try another book for both but Valerie needs to be in a studio and not in the bathroom with the window open on a busy street.

Can't think of any other book to compare its to but listened to the previous book and Valerie was in the same bathroom on the same busy street while narrating the book.

Sounded as though she was reading the book from the bathroom. Quality was bad.

This is the first book I've listened to that I could hear car horns and road noise in the background. The story itself was pretty good though.

narration needs improvement

The story was good but the narration was bad. Sounds like it was recorded in a tunnel and you can frequently hear horns from outside traffic.

very entertaining, I loved the writing and the story. I really loved the chemistry between the two. I only have one thing that could be improved, the traffic or train noise in the background, it's not bad, easy to ignore and not frequent but noticeable. I kept thinking I was hearing traffic from outside until I figured it out.
