Redemption, Connecticut is the small town that Rose moves to when she needs the support of her family for her son and herself. Rescuing Rose seems to be the main theme but in fact she has faced her demons and is an independent single mother. She has the support of her family and reconnects with her childhood friend and next door neighbor to her Aunt.
The story is full of romance, an interfering mother and want-to-be girlfriend. Rescuing Rose is a fun romance full of emotion and reality that makes it a good love story.

Rose and her brother Jake lost their mother early and their father was a mean drunk. Rose has no self esteem and became someone who tried to please everyone. She's a single mom trying to make it as a chef when her world starts to spiral out of control.
Jake is taking care of her son Olly for her while she gets herself together. Jake moves to Redemption to be near their aunt for support. Rose decides it's time for a new start and moves to Redemption also and she and Olly try to reconnect. Rose runs into her childhood friend, Caden, who lends a hand with Olly so that she's able to get a job and get back on her feet.
Nice little romance with a small town atmosphere. This is the first book that I have read by the author and though this is the second book in a series, it's a stand alone. I plan to read the others.

I won this from Goodreads Giveaways. I found that it was a wonderful novel about starting over and trying to find a path to better things. Rose didn't have the best of childhoods, and tried to find love from working as a cook and then from a man who was more into partying then being a decent human being and father. He died young and she was left to raise her son and with help from her big brother she was doing ok. Yeah the money was tight and they had to move a lot because of cost for everything until she got fired and found her way into a bottle and got upset with her young son and it only took one time for her to realize she needed to ask for help. She asked her brother to take her son and she checked herself in to rehab.
