Porschia Grant is in Frenzy. The hunger is constant. It's all-consuming, as is the pain and sickness. Something went wrong when she turned. Perhaps it was the fact that an infected bit her moments before, or maybe it's something else entirely.
One thing is certain, if Porschia can't learn to feed, she will die. If she can't learn to control her extreme emotional swings, she will kill someone. And that would destroy her.
How long can the night-walkers keep her turning a secret from the colony? Will Saul stand beside her now that she's changed? And what will happen when she re-enters the forest?

    A Frantic Hangover
I am truly loving how this story is playing out. The interaction between the Infected and the Night-Walkers is dynamic.
In Book One, I was all for Team Roman. Book Two had me cheering for Team Tage. There is so much to love about this vamp. Although he had selfish intentions, he has a real heart and truly cares for Porschia.
Normally, I read a book and envision my own image for the characters. Bondâs books have me thinking of real actors in the roles. Julian, a new domineering vamp, reminds me of the late Michael Clarke Duncan. Porschia reminds me of a brunette version of Leah Pipes from âThe Originalsâ. Finally, Roman reminds me of a wonderful cross between Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies, also from âThe Originalsâ.
I loved Saul, Porschiaâs sacrificial lamb. He was unbelievably strong in his conviction. I especially admired how his love for Porschia never wavered.
Finally, I loved how Bond incorporated Exodus 7 -11 in her story. Creative genius!
I canât wait to read the next book in this series!
    Casey Bond is exceptional!
Frantic had me, well, Frantic! I loved Porschia Grant and could feel her pain as she agonized throughout the book.
Casey Bond's writing is exceptional and I adored how she crafted Frantic. The ending was crazy! I can't wait for the next book, Casey.
    Hurry!
    Nooo
It just keeps getting worse for these characters. I love these characters and feel so bad for them. Ugh. How they deal so well is crazy. I wouldn't.
    Intense
This is an amazing read it has me stuck, I can't wait to find out what happens next it's a wild ride!
As good as the first one!!!
This started right were Frenzy stopped! It pulled you in and won't let you go!!! Waiting to see what happens next!!! I highly recommend this series!!

    Publisher's Summary:
Estelle's entire life was planned. Her career had been chosen. Her future husband had been picked. Sure, she had her faults, but she tried to behave. She really tried. She just had too many questions. She wanted to change everything about the world starting with the night sky. The overly lit, decorated by projections, careening and spiraling night sky. So she came up with a bright idea. Now she's a celebrity. She's a rebellious outlaw. She's a criminal. And chances are, everyone she loves will be disappeared. How could she have risked so much just to see the stars?

Bright sings a song of rebellion and hope
Estelle is a beautiful heroine whose maturation the reader is allowed to witness throughout the story. Estelle, like many of us and like most children, unquestionably accepts her station in life for quite some time. As she begins to question her world and gains exposure to a different path, Estelle becomes willing to give up everything that she is and everything that she knows in order to seek answers to the questions her soul must ask.
As a mother I hope to raise children like Estelle who will risk it all to find their own way.
A well written and thought provoking book
***THERE ARE SOME SPOILERS - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK***
I greatly enjoyed this book. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I read it a second time soon after reading it the first - mostly because the first time, I was so enthralled, I read it very quickly and the second time, I savored it instead.
The characters are well developed and really made me feel like I knew them.
New City felt a lot like I feel The Capitol is in The Hunger Games. Everything is always better, faster, newer, more. Don't worry about other people, just worry about yourself. It also reminds me a bit of how things often are here in our times. The blindly destroying/following/buying new and trashing old is better. So many follow along in that way, while, truth be told, reusing, repurposing, taking care of the old is such a good thing, and necessary too.
I love Estelle's window seat and when she has the gumption to make sure she continues to have that seat, I really fell in love with her. Will is SUCH a wonderful character, as is Terran. The names, Estelle (who looks for the stars) and Terran (who loves the dirt) are perfect.
MJ seemed a little judge-y at first, but then, when she realizes the full extent of what Estelle and her little group have done, I think she truly understands them and their desire to make their own choices and live in their own way.
I thought the protests were interesting - and how Estelle reacts to them. I was so happy when she started questioning.
I found Jack very interesting. I really didn't like him at various times in the book. In the end, I did. And I was glad that he and the rest were finally friends - or, at least tolerated one another.
Part of what I think I liked so much about Estelle is how real she was. Even when she was creating her own life and living outside, rarely showering, etc, she was so real in her wanting of things she didn't have. I think this is often the case. I know that there are times that I wish I had this or that object.
MJ and Estelle are wonderful female leads, which is refreshing. Neither of them truly need someone to save them. MJ is amazing. I love that she is a baby slinging/breastfeeding mama. SO cool to have that depicted in a novel.

    Loved this book!!!
My 14 year old daughter and I both read this book and loved it!!! She read it within a day because she couldn't put it down. I'm one of those who read and get bored quickly with overly descript scenes and I didn't have that problem with this book. Jennifer wrote her scenes perfect enough that I could imagine every scene in my head like a movie. I can not wait to see what the next book holds!!!

The author is building an interesting world so I look forward to seeing where this will lead the characters. I would like to see more complexity in the developing relationships and have a feeling that there is potential for some troublesome times for father and daughter learning to relate after so many years distancing them. Anxiously awaiting next part of the story!
    Surviving
Abby is living by herself in her father's cottage after "The Infected" have overrun the world. Her survivalist father's teachings have kept her alive & able to take care of herself. However, one day the guards come to the cottage, seemingly looking for her. When she leaves the comfort of this sanctuary, she encounters a group that want to help her.
Abby doesn't have many social skills & at first, she doesn't trust anybody except her wolf, Kade. However, eventually her hard shell is broken (or at least cracked) by Derrick's love. She learns that her father might be alive & that her mother started the whole "Infected" episode.
This was an enjoyable read with just enough difference from other "zombie" books to keep it interesting. I definitely want to continue the adventures of Abby & the others
    Five Stars
Great read! Can't wait for more!

Greta Stuart has become AI. New transmitters have silvered her fingerprints. New receptors have transformed her vision. And the whole of her memory has become one book in a vast library of instant knowledge. Greta is ready to rule the world.
But the new technology is also killing her.
Greta is only 16 years old, but her new enhancements are burning through her mortal body at an alarming rate. Of course the leader of the AIs, an ancient and compelling artificial intelligence named Talis, has a plan. Greta can simply do what he's done when the time comes and take over the body of one of the Swan Riders, the utterly loyal humans who serve the AIs as part army, part cult.
First, though, Greta will have to find a way to stay sane inside her new self. Talis' plan for that involves a road trip. Escorted by Swan Riders, Greta and Talis set out on a horseback journey across the strange and not-quite-deserted landscape of Saskatchewan. But there are other people interested in Greta, people who want to change the world, and the Swan Riders might not be as loyal as they appear.

This continues to be one of my favourite sci-fi series and I think it raises some really fascinating questions about what it means to be human. I love Greta as a narrator--how thoughtful she is, how level-headed she is, how genuinely she tries to do the right thing even as she grapples with what that is, how committed she is to her duties. I personally thought that The Scorpion Rules stood alone pretty well but this was a good sequel. Some of the mechanics of what was happening with world-building especially at the end were hard for me to follow and I really missed Xie's character, but I still enjoyed this one a lot.
    Book 2! Yay!
I discovered this book almost entirely by chance when I was at the library wondering exactly what I was going to read that would compare to The Scorpion Rules. When I saw it waiting for me on the shelf, practically yelling "Read me! I'm the sequel to your new favorite book! The one you didn't think existed!" I immediately checked it out and read it that afternoon.
I was not dissapointed. Not only did it continue the story of the characters I'd cared about in The Scorpion Rules, it managed to be, in my opinion, almost better than the first book. Yes, there is a lot of time spent in the Saskatchewan, but all of that time is spent developing the world, the Swan Riders, and the characters.
I loved the ideas behind the book: what, exactly, makes one human? Is blowing up cities a good way to rule the world? Can an AI be --or become-- human?
I loved the description of the other AIs, especially when Sri and Talis were arguing about Evie and the rest not being quite human, and Evie's bear and her locks.
The Red Mountains, especially, were well described, making me feel almost as if the bood-red landscape was real.
It made me want to cry, the last two chapters in particular, with Talis/Rachel/Tanim, but it wasn't a sad book. It was a book that made me think, and laugh, and I loved reading it.
"Inappropriate jokes are what I do. That and smoking craters. It's the combination that gets to people."
    --Talis
We learn more about swan riders, but the plot doesn't make sense
I was really excited to get this sequel to the Scorpion Rules.

    Publisher's Summary:
Odd's luck has been bad so far. He lost his father on a Viking expedition, his foot was crushed beneath a tree and the winter seems to be going on forever. But when Odd flees to the woods and releases a trapped bear, his luck begins to change.
The eagle, bear and fox he encounters reveal they're actually Norse gods trapped in animal form by the evil frost giants who have conquered Asgard, the city of the gods....
Can a 12-year-old boy reclaim Thor's hammer, outwit the frost giants and release the gods? With Neil Gaiman's wit and style, this story transcends the everyday and becomes a humorous, rich and layered tale of a life lived courageously.
    Members Reviews:
The book is warm and interesting.
Great tale very suitable to retold to my children :) Author is brilliant as always!
    amazing!
Gaiman is perfect as always. Though this novel is very short its beautiful and Gaimans voice is really amazing. Plot is good but short and more linear, without any really unpredictable twists. Though atmosphere is good.
A short story gift from a fantasy genius.
What a lovely little gem. A perfect listen for adults and kids.
Neil Gaiman takes you into a wonderful imaginative adventure and one more time shows that he's an artist in the way he layers his writing... there are just so many hidden meanings in Odd's story. It is interesting, fun and beautiful.
The only thing is that you really need to love the author's style to spend a whole credit or money on such a short book. From a Gaiman addict: it was well worth it.
Narration is perfect. Having book well read by its creator is a simple pleasure.
    Skilful and sublime
Another wonderful tale, beautifully told by Neil Gaiman. I cant wait to read this with my class while we study the Vikings.
    short but sweet
this is far more accessible than his "Norse mythology" book although the two complement each other extremely well. Hainan also does a great job narrating his own work and it's always nice when you can hear the words the way the author wanted.

    Genres: Teens, Sci-Fi & Fantasy
    Publisher's Summary:
Jonathan is not the strongest young man in his home village. That would be his older brother Jason. He isn't the tallest, best looking, or funniest either. Again, that would be Jason. He is better than most in the village at archery, though. He is an excellent hunter, and can perform more trick shots than anyone else with amazing accuracy. Well, he is almost better than anyone else. Jason has him beat there too. Jonathan doesn't mind though, he and his older brother share a deep bond that connects them more fully than their differences could separate them. They work together in their family fields, go swimming at the fishing hole, and sometimes they play tricks on other farmers in the village. Whatever they do, for good or ill, they do together.
On Jonathan's 16th birthday though, officers come to the village asking for volunteers. Trolls have invaded during the heaviest monsoon season ever known, and the wet conditions have given the trolls enhanced abilities. Jason is the first to step forward, and is eagerly accepted for his height and strength. Though he also volunteers, Jonathan is told he is too young, and not strong enough for the rigors of war with the trolls in the Murkle Quags.
When letters stop arriving from Jason after two years of war, and Jonathan still finds himself denied acceptance to the army due to his small stature, he does what any good brother would do. Jonathan Haymaker takes his bow and leaves his home. They said it couldn't be done. The journey was too far, the dangers too great, and the war too fierce for a boy like him. Perhaps they were right, but he knew Jason was alive somewhere, and he was not about to let his brother be alone.

The book is simply written. The storyline predictable. Generally, those items are ok, but the combination with the reader and a sub-standard audio product, really brings the book down.

    loved it
Great story and performance. I only wish it was longer. At least the sequel is already out
    Better than I expected!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, if they like time travel stories.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Traveler's Secret?
Probably the part where the twins still existed when their mother was dead.
    Which scene was your favorite?
There were so many, but one was when they realized that the 3 men weren't dead, and they could no longer charge the kids with murder.
Another was whenever the albino girl showed up, she'd talk in that eerie voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending. It left it open to where I'm anxious to see what happens in the next book!
    Any additional comments?
Much better than I thought it would be, and the narrator was pretty good too.
Great story! Well performed by Roberto Scarlato!
Where does The Traveler's Secret rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I love this book. It is YA so appropriate for age over 14, but my 10 year-old daughter loved it.
What did you like best about this story?
The story involves time travel which I loved immensely.
What about Roberto Scarlatos performance did you like?
Roberto Scarlet is a great reader and performs the different parts brilliantly.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I loved the whole book and can't wait to read part 2.
    Any additional comments?
If you love thrillers, this is a must read.
    I need book two....Now!
The Travellers Secret by Jan Eira is book one of The Travellers Series. My first question after this book was 'when is the next book out??'
It starts with four teenagers hanging out before something unexpected happens leading the four youngsters on a journey to try and destroy Enoxadin a pharmaceutical drug that will prevent heart attacks. This drug sounds great until it interacts with a new virus that starts to kill the earths population So its up to the future and the past to come together to prevent Enoxadin from being manufactured.

    simple fun
enjoyable story. nothing complex or deep...entertaining. narrator was appropriate, believable and good. nice part 1
    surprisingly good
I didn't know what to expect but the story was actually riveting. the characters were engaging and the world was pretty unique. the book made me laugh out loud throughout. I look forward to the next in the series. I believe it is only going to get better. Amanda Dolan is one of my favorite narrators and she did an excellent job as always. the author also did a good job, in keeping me guessing what was going to happen.
    Too Teen
First, the narrator was irritating. I almost stopped listening but she improved the longer I listened.
Then I kept waiting for the characters to grow up and develop past their TSTL phase (to stupid to live). All I got was a cliffhanger ending that I don't care if I ever learn what happens next.
Generally I think this is probably a book I may have enjoyed in Junior High school but as an older reader the characters were just too juvenile and deserved a good slap upside the head for their actions. I cannot recommend this book for readers older than 16.
