It's GAYSIAN WEEK! Or, Queer and Trans Asian Pacific Islander week, to be exact. If you haven't heard of it, you’re not alone. It's relatively new! And drops on this upcoming week that shares the last days of API heritage month (May) and first few of Pride month (June). So we bring you a *mini-episode* where we get a bit corny, a bit softcore Asian American studies with each other. Then proceed to play an unhinged round of f**k marry kill: famous gaysians edition. We return next week with a full episode! PS. Sorry the sound sucks ugh bad European wifi.

After White supremacists stormed a children’s event she hosted at a Bay Area library last year, friend and Drag Story Hour co-founder Panda Dulce was thrust into the center of the drag ban debate. In this week’s episode, Panda recounts the story and why it’s the last time she’ll tell it publicly. We also get into the complicated journey of healing from traumatic incidents. Plus, life in a drag punk band, navigating the Bear community as an Asian Bear a.k.a “panda,” those impenetrable Panda conga lines at Asian circuit parties, and “the war on Poppers.”

We’re popping the top off our GAYSIAN RAGE. Inspired by the Netflix series “BEEF,” we won’t bottle up our grudges any longer! Listen as we go through our beefs on a range topics: gender reveal parties, Frank Ocean’s Coachella set, misgendering, vaping, hemorrhoids….and finally, each other. Minor feelings? We’ve got major ones. The complaint department has fully arrived (and we hope we don’t get canceled).

Everybody say clurb! Wearing our emotional support tank tops, we stumble down memory lane of our favorite pastime - *going out*. Gaysian clubbing has changed, but have we? Are our nights less messy, and the rice queens less creepy? Plus, we get real about the passing of a San Francisco drag icon.

Rob Oh joins the pod to walk us through life as a viral TikTok and Reels gaysian. We cover the TikToks that bring us life and the cringey ones that need to stop. And we open up about our histories with depression (content warning: we discuss self-harm and suicidal thoughts). When it's finally time to be real: Chris evades his feelings far away from home, Rob addresses a spicy rumor, and Bao makes a personal announcement.

Little is written or known about “Homepas,” secret spaces that have been at the center of gay Asia’s party underground for decades. In this episode, we attempt to do what chatGPT could not - describe what homepas are! The exclusivity! The muscles! The rules! The underwear! The marginalization that birthed these spaces! AND their complicated racial politics — all based on our wild and hilarious experiences.

IT’S MOTHER! Doncha’s drag mom @esteelongah joins us to read her drag daughter to filth and walk us through the legacy of local Asian drag in San Francisco. A founding member and matriarch of the SF Asian drag troupe the @ricerockettes, she teaches us about the troupe’s humble beginnings, their connection to community activism, and their recent controversy with Shen Yun.

We’re facing some tough, complicated feelings about our parents (and ourselves) as they age. We work through the rawness of those feelings in this episode: The highs and lows of our histories with them. Their personal growth around our queerness. Neverending guilt. And new fears that are surfacing as they enter their “golden years.” Content warning: we talk about physical abuse and trauma in this episode, and call it out before discussing.

We interview Kevin Kwong, who overnight became one of the most recognizable faces of the mpox (fka monkeypox) outbreak. We hear his first-hand account of what happened, and how he found the courage to share all his bizness to major news outlets. We also get to know the amazing human behind the face - learning how to hit on guys at the club, how to pull off a Coachella marriage proposal, and how to earn a "playa name."
Note: We recorded this episode last year, before the CDC updated the virus's term to "mpox" to reduce stigma and other issues associated with prior terminology. So we refer to the virus as "monkeypox" in the episode (but don't anymore!). Please forgive us <3.

It’s a big New Year’s Eve party revue! At the White Party Bangkok, Bao battles the crowds and body dysmorphia but finds some peace. And at Afterglow in SF, Chris is wondering where all the d*cks went. Plus, we address our first hurtful comment about the pod.
