  • I Want You To Put The Word Out There That We Back Up

    Understand me? We back up.

We had a rough month and a half since our last episode. It's always something, ain't it? We got your annual Record Store Day update with a little wishlist Paul's got going, what we saw and didn't see in Coachella weekend 1, what we want in weekend 2, the TurnstileMZ experience, MORE Converge(!?!?!), and our somber tribute to beloved musician and podcast trailblazer Bo Lueders.

We talk about five songs that you wouldn't expect us to like as people and make a little ol' tier list out of them. Guilty pleasure music doesn't exist and we're excited to show a different side of ourselves.

If you want to see the playlist for yourself:

  • Cosmic Glue Holding This Whole Thing Together

Back into the swing of it, folks. 2026 is in full effect and it's goofy as hell.

This week we talk Zombie Warped Tour, Record Store Day's 2026 Ambassador, Hayley Williams again, and that wily old man Bruce Springsteen showing up with Tom Morello in the Twin Cities. We discuss why you don't meet your heroes, we put on our tinfoil hats for the conspiracy of 2016 being the year the universe broke, talk protest music, and songs that should have been massive!

  • The Best of 2025 vol. 2: Thank God That's Over

Happy Hellworld, everybody! 2025 is over but we can't return 2026 to the store, unfortunately.

We briefly touch on a couple of music news bits that interested us before delving into the meat of the program: our top 5 records of 2025. We hope that if you haven't taken the time to listen to the music we've recommended thus far to give it a try. There have been some truly amazing pieces of music that came out in 2025 and even though the world is in flames, music works as a salve.

If you have a bone to pick with us for something, surprise!

  • The Best of 2025 vol. 1

    Happy New Years, folks.

2025 is finally over. Great year for music, which is great for us! Bad year for... almost everything else for us here at LFT, but did you see? It's over. We survived.

We dig in to some light news and then break down our set-up: albums 10-6 of our favorites will be discussed this episode. Next one is 5-1. It's a darn fun time and maybe you'll find something you like! Or get blood red mad at us! And you know what you can do with that extra energy?

  • Russell Re-Brand Yourself

2025 has been a great year for music with a lot of very difficult decisions looming as to what is our favorites. Today, we touch on a little bit of music news and talk about our criteria for what makes our best of lists. We talk about albums and works that *just* falls outside of our respective top ten albums.

We're almost to a new calendar year and some of your favs have already released best of lists. Best Albums, Best EPs, Best (Insert Genre Here) of 2025, Worst lists even! We do not take that approach here.

So sit a spell, listen up, and let's all enjoy the remainder of the holidays!

  • Art as Ambience

After an unexpected hiatus (shout out highway department!) we're back. Just getting caught up on the past few weeks, talking about ladies in music, creation from the created, top 40, dated album covers... brother. Or sister. Friend: We had a good time. Paul had too much fun with his microphone being moveable and won't do it again.

  • They've got a good fan base, they've got integrity

It's a busy time of year for your girl Jenn. Time to record is a premium but you know what? She took time to spend it with me. We recorded that time. And buddy? It's yours!

This week we talk about Spotify, Ticketmaster/LiveNation, Chappel Roan's philanthropic efforts, and Gen X dad's geekin' for Dave Grohl and His Foo Fighters. It's Punk for A Day Day so we talk about what the genre has meant to us, cover songs that are scary bad, petty reasons to hate a band, and using song titles to conjure the spirits of our sports segments of yore.

Come have fun with us. I think this episode might have the most laughter in it. Come live for this with us.

  • Boiled chicken, white rice, mayo on the side

We're back this week with Taylor Swift (we're sorry), reunited Rush, personal and professional integrity, and Zach Bryan inserting himself into our lives against our will. We tried winging it on our games and we're actually very proud of our humble offering this week. Join us. You, too, can live for this.

  • Work Sucks? I know.

The world burns around us. Yet, music persists. Might as well have some fun with it!

We hit the show calendar and new releases, 2026 festival announcements and tours, Lola Young stepping back from music, the Nevermind baby getting rejected again, a Replacements biopic... and talk international artists, musical instrument petting zoos, lyrics as catharsis, and genre naming!
