There are many great reasons to start a podcast, five of which are...
The first and foremost thing you need to do before you start your podcast is to really evaluate your why.
Although the above reasons are valid reasons to start a podcast, you should have a deeper and more personal why.
Producing a podcast is not for everyone and you must come up with your unique and personal reasons. My reasons may be different than yours. Understanding and staying focused on your why will help you get through the tough hurdles that arise and the drudgery of routine.
In this episode, I review the basic set-up procedures in starting your own podcast. Be sure to email [email protected] if you are facing hurdles starting your own podcast.

I remember vividly the day that I made the decision to become a podcaster. It was the day that I was casually talking with Cliff Ravenscraft at a conference and he pushed me over the edge(in a good way).
He motivated me to take the plunge and do it. Was it easy peasy? I'd have to say... no.
Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY. In this episode, I share my top three growing lessons I've learned by starting this podcast.

We've all heard of S.M.A.R.T. goals. S for Specific. M for measurable. A for attainable. R for relevant. T for Time-based.
In this episode, Marshall Townsend II joins me as we dive into talking about the right way in setting goals. I was a bit surprised at first with his take on the S.M.A.R.T. goal concept. S.M.A.R.T. goals have been drilled into us forever. Marshall takes us onto a different journey when it comes to goal setting.
Marshall Townsend II is a Professional Leadership Coach, Mentor, Speaker, and Retired Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) whose passion for and dedication to empowering others have earned him the reputation as a service-centered leader within his community. Over the course of two decades, he has gained extensive coaching experience (as well as another two decades of leadership expertise in the army), helping thousands of people thrive along the way.
Marshall's affinity for helping people has been lifelong, but the spark for coaching entered his life during his military service. It wasn't long before he discovered his innate talent for positively influencing leaders by inspiring them to think outside of the box and cultivate a deeper sense of comradery between them and their soldiers.
Ultimately, this got him noticed amongst his peers, leading him to be selected by prominent senior leaders to teach organizations and fellow leaders alike. The most pivotal moment in his life arrived when he was asked by the Army to coach leaders in Idaho as a civilian contractor. After 18 rewarding years of coaching, he decided to expand his horizons (and his outreach) by launching his own company.
Today, Marshall proudly serves as the Founder of MT2Leadership, where he imparts his valued clients with the life-altering tools needed to pave the way to personal and professional prosperity. In 2016, he joined the John Maxwell Team and in 2017 he moved up to become an Independent Executive Director with The John Maxwell Team.

Company branded email is a detail that shouldn't be overlooked when you are starting your own small business. Yet, it often is!
No matter what stage you are in your business, if you are using a free email account (like gmail, yahoo, msn, etc.) it's time to STOP!
This detail matters.
In this episode, I share an experience I had that really left a negative impression on me from a business who should have known better. Their lack of using a company branded email placed a black mark on their professionalism and longevity.
Are you subconsciously leaving a bad impression on prospects because you aren't using a company branded email?
Listen and find out.

Let's face it. Consistently creating content is not easy.
It takes commitment. It takes time. It takes work. And sometimes it can be an uncomfortable process. Uncomfortable because there seems to be that looming deadline over your head and you're busy and unsure what to write or record.
Listen as I share why sometimes it may be necessary to take a pause for the cause, so to speak. I gained a lot of insight from fellow podcaster, Paul Klein as I listened to his December 17, 2020 episode titled Why Pausing This Podcast Was Dumb...But Necessary and Paul was kind enough to allow me to verbalize my thoughts on this week's episode.
Enjoy!
