The CrossFit Open is a great way to test your fitness. This year we are diving back in to join the community world wide for no specific reason other than to play! Coming from competitive backgrounds we share the struggles of not being where we once were, thoughts on the workouts and why are choosing to participate!

Should you be changing how you eat days, weeks or months before competition? What are best practices and what are common pitfalls? We discuss quality food and how it plays a role in your performance, nutrient timing and some problems with changing your approach too close to competition day!

This episode is specifically about being present which is one thing I made a purposeful effort at doing the past 2 months. How are you doing with this? I'd argue that it can be measured by the success of anything you are taking part in. Relationships need to grow? Focus on them. Business struggling? Give it all your attention with less distractions. Results in the gym lacking? When you are there make that your only priority! Be where you are, be present.

They're back! Adrian and Michaela catch up on what's happened this last month. Then they discuss the topic of raising their children. They both open up about strategies on allowing their children to explore, take their own risks and what that looks like from the parenting side. The balance between giving their children things they dreamed up as kids vs. creating entitlement and spoiled young humans is a hard one to find. The 2020 CrossFit Open begins on October 10th this year! With the 5 weeks of competition coming so quickly Adrian and Michaela wanted to make sure you had some direction with your training. They discuss some of their experience and tell you exactly what you should be working on to have success this year in the Open!

We all have a vision for where we want to go. What most people lack are the actionable to get there. Adrian encourages you to use your imagination and start to live and act as if your dreams have been or are being attained, that will be the catalyst to making them real.

You should be eating with purpose. We all choose different paths when it comes to "how much" or "what" we choose to eat, but one thing is for sure, it should match your goals. We had several listeners send us questions about food choices, intolerances, weighing and measuring and balancing macro's. In this episode we discuss a few of those questions and provide the best answers we can to give some clarity of course our opinions.
