The fight over how we vote, when we can vote, and who can vote has only intensified in the half a year since the 2020 elections and the Senate runoffs in Georgia. But to understand how we got here, it’s a good idea to look at those 2020 campaigns again, with fresh eyes and perhaps some information we didn’t have at the time. In a special live broadcast edition—his final one as host of the Political Breakfast—WABE political contributor Denis O’Hayer welcomed a couple of special guests who know a lot about the 2020 campaigns from the inside: former Biden Georgia communications director Jaclyn Rothenberg and veteran Republican strategist Heath Garrett. They joined our regulars: Republican strategist Brian Robinson and Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson.
