Dr. Ciara Dennis-Morgan is the Clinical Coordinator at Minority Behavioral Health Group, a psychologist, yoga instructor, my best friend, and wife. She discusses her upbringing here in Akron as daughter of parents in ministry and how they were intentional on her having a "normal" experience. Ciara shares how she learned the instilling of values through everyday actions, and how loving people is key to her living her purpose. She also breaks down the importance of overall health and wellness, specifically mental health as it relates to Black people and why talk therapy is valuable.  Ciara focuses on using yoga and breath-work as a tool to understand the union between body and spirit which can be instrumental in enhancing self-awareness  and appreciating self-worth.  This episode was recorded shortly after we found out we were expecting our first child and so we look forward to having Ciara back on the pod to share her experience as a new mother to our son.   

Swoope is a Grammy award winning artist, rapper, and overall multi talented musician.  He is most known for his accolades as one of the leaders, pioneers, and legends as a Christian Hip Hop artist.  He sat down with us here, on the Live Your Purpose Podcast to discuss his upbringing in our hometown, Akron, Ohio as well as his life as a father, husband, and son.  We touched on his trials and successes as a Christian Hip Hop artist and why he plans to continue to intentionally push the culture forward by being authentic, organic, and disruptive through living with purpose.  His transparency in this interview is why we love him as an artist, but even more why people like myself love and appreciate him as a friend.  Enjoy this episode and appreciate why living your purpose is an essential part of growth and the path to living free.     

In episode 1, we sat down with John Morgan Sr. to discuss his life in full, the man he is today and who he is evolving to become. This episode also served as a way to give the audience insight into John Morgan Jr.  John's father walks us down memory lane and described what life was like in Akron during the civil rights movement up to what became the War on Drugs epidemic in the mid 80s.  He speaks on his life experiences, from childhood trauma and overcoming substance abuse, to why his greatest blessing was being surrounded with  good people despite circumstances beyond his control.  This episode is a bonus although there is no video.  It was our first episode so it's safe to say we didn't know what the hell we were doing with the camera just yet.
