Mylan Murphy is a husband, father, serial entrepreneur, motivational speaker and author here in Akron, OH. Mylan was described as always being independent and creative as a kid. Growing up with both parents as entrepreneurs, Mylan was exposed to the pros and cons of life as your own boss. Mylan started his first business and clothing line as a junior high student after his parents got divorced as a way to take some pressure and burden off of his mother financially. In this episode he discusses how like many of us, sports drove a lot of his passion for many years, but some life changing events lead him down a different path. In 2019 Mylan's mother Terri passed away after a battle with cancer, and he vowed to live his life with added intention and purpose as a way to carry on her legacy and to further his own. Recently if you've been on any social media, specifically Tik Tok, Mylan has taken over the site with his creative basketball videos, massing millions of views and relationships with brands to sponsor their products. I've known Mylan for years, and after this conversation I asked myself how the hell could I not be motivated by this man? Enjoy the episode.
