Brandee Wilkinson is a Mother, Wife, and Entrepreneur in Akron, OH.  In 2019 she became the first Black Woman to ever own and operate a funeral home, Wilkinson Funeral Home, here in Akron where she is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.  In this episode Brandee discusses her early years of having a passion for music and how supportive and loving parents instilled in her and her siblings the mindset of being able to achieve anything no matter the odds.  Brandee's story is a testament of courage and faith, as she educated me on the experiences Women face when working through a fertility process.  Brandee is a leader and someone who's faith should be admired as she has always been able to lean into her faith despite the outcome not always being visible.  Her road to becoming a Funeral Home Director is just that, as she worked along side a prominent local company before stepping out on her own.  See how Brandee is currently living her purpose through providing service, living with integrity and everlasting faith.   

Yvette Lloyd is a local business woman and entrepreneur in Akron.  She is the owner of Fadia's Womens Program where she empowers and mentors young women on college preparation, finances, career placement, entrepreneurship, and overall health and wellness.  She is also the proud owner of the daycare center Munroe Enrichment Academy.  Yvette is a true hustler in the sense of the word, but is currently living her purpose by hosting the show "Lifeher Podcast" where she allows women to share their most vulnerable and intimate stories in the hopes of healing others though their testimony.  Yvette created her podcast with her mother in the hopes of healing and helping other women find their voice for strength and to break generational curses and heal years of trauma.  After Yvettes mother transitioned in 2019 Yvette vowed to continue her legacy of providing service to people through any means.  Yvette was transparent, forthcoming and genuine during this conversation.  Find out why anyone who comes into contact with her loves her immediately and will support her movement, including me.  LINE UP.....

Marlan Jones is a Husband, Father, full time employee and a Real Estate investor here in Akron, OH.  In 2013 I was living with my great-grandmother to assist her in her elderly years, after an accidental fall she would never be the same.  As a family we decided that providing her with in house living assistance would benefit her the best.  Knowing that seeing this once lively and full of energy woman would be restricted to a bed in her living room, the stress of it all became too much for me.  I reached out to Marlan to see if he had a any vacancies in any of his rental properties and I would've never knew that my life would be changed forever.  He told me to look into buying my first property instead.  Marlan is someone who has been a mentor to me in the space of Real Estate.  He grew up in family where the importance of having residual and multiple streams of income were practiced regularly and the vehicle of Real Estate was the most powerful one.  He has been investing in Real Estate over the past 10 years and owns single family units and multi-unit properties all while having a family and full time career.  He discusses his story on how he started, and even some of his own struggles with overcoming serious credit card debt and how he used his experiences and life lessons to share his wisdom on how anyone can get into the space of real estate and some of the easiest strategies to do so.  "Financial Freedom our only hope" - JAY-Z

Romeo Travis is mostly known to the world as a "Fab 5 member",  childhood friend and former high school teammate of NBA future Hall of Famer LeBron James.  In this conversation we learned how those years as a St Vincent St Mary alum, almost didn't happen, but divine order wouldn't have it any other way.  Rome discusses how his childhood and family values carried him into a successful basketball player in high school, college and a professional career.  I remember being an 8th grader and watching Rome and his teammates during this time and how they changed the high school basketball landscape forever, and being one of those youngsters that would forever be inspired. Dr. Tania Lodge is the Clinical Director at Minority Behavioral Health Group, the only black owned state certified and nationally accredited mental health agency in the entire country right here in Akron, Ohio.  She sat down with us here to discuss her upbringing and her personal experiences that lead her to becoming a psychologist.  She broke down the importance of mental health, and the disparities of Black people when it comes to receiving mental health services.  Dr. T gave us amazing insight regarding how systemic oppression has and continues to impact Black people for centuries and the lingering effects on our mental health and overall well-being.  Dr. T also answered the infamous question, "Can black people be racist?".  Check out episode 4, as she discusses how she is currently living her purpose and why Ubuntu is important.
