  • Why I Don't Offer Free Consultations: Protecting My Energy as an Intuitive Coach

Why don't I offer free consultations? Because protecting my energy is just as important as helping other women protect theirs.

In this episode of the Living Deeply Podcast, I share why I've intentionally chosen not to offer free consultations in my coaching practice.

As a highly sensitive, empathetic, and intuitive coach, I connect deeply with the women I work with. I've learned to honor that connection by setting boundaries around my time, energy, and expertise.

I also explain why I don't believe in convincing women to work with me. I trust that the right coaching relationships happen through genuine connection, intuition, and alignment.

With free content available on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and my podcast, there are plenty of opportunities to get to know me before booking.

I even have a podcast episode on my website clearly marked "Listen Before Booking." If you listen, explore my content, and still feel led to work with me, chances are we were always intended to work together.

This episode is about protecting your energy, knowing your worth, trusting your intuition, and honoring your boundaries without apology.

  • Religious Entitlement on Social Media
    Religious Entitlement on Social Media

What happens when someone uses your paid business advertisement to push religious beliefs you never asked for?

In this episode of Living Deeply Podcast, I share a real Facebook exchange that reminded me exactly why I coach women on self-trust, boundaries, and personal and spiritual autonomy.

As a Black woman raised in Louisiana's Bible Belt, I discuss how religious pressure is often disguised as kindness, why I choose to respond to boundary-crossing comments, and how religious and cultural conditioning can make women feel guilty for saying no.

I also explore the historical use of Christianity as a tool of control, my freedom to connect with my ancestors and spirit guides, and why respecting someone's beliefs doesn't mean accepting them as your own.

Most importantly, I explain how my intuitive coaching helps women trust themselves, establish boundaries, and make decisions without constantly seeking approval.

Because kindness doesn't give anyone permission to cross your boundaries, and protecting your peace doesn't always mean remaining silent.

  • Trusting My Intuition Through My Throat Chakra

In this episode of Living Deeply with Markieta, I share how my throat chakra has become a powerful part of my spiritual journey and how I'm learning to trust my intuition through physical sensations.

When I'm considering a decision, a calm and peaceful feeling in my throat chakra often signals a yes. But when I experience discomfort, uneasiness, or even pain, I recognize it as a sign to say no, pause, or explore the situation further.

I also discuss the connection between my throat chakra, speaking my truth, setting boundaries, and making decisions without needing approval from others.

As I continue exploring my spirituality, I'm discovering that trusting my intuition is another way of trusting myself.

  • Why I'm Grateful to Be a Later in Life Lesbian

I don’t need anybody to co-sign on who I am or who I love. In this episode, I share why I’m grateful to be a later-in-life lesbian—from already being independent to having the strength to stand up for myself and make my own decisions.

I talk about knowing what I need in a relationship, keeping my standards, and being myself even when others don’t understand or approve. My past marriage doesn’t change who I am today, and coming out later doesn’t mean I have to rush what comes next.

  • When Violence is Called Holy: Christianity, Scripture, and Power

In this episode of Living Deeply with Markieta, I explore how Christian scripture, history, and political power have sometimes been used to justify violence and cruelty in the name of God. From biblical passages about warfare to the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and colonization, I examine how religious authority can make harm seem righteous. I also recognize Christianity’s traditions of compassion and nonviolence while calling for an honest look at the harm committed in its name.

  • Why Going Back to School After Dropping Out Was One of the Best Decisions I Ever Made
Why Going Back to School After Dropping Out Was One of the Best Decisions I Ever Made

I dropped out of college at 19, but that wasn't the end of my story. It was only the beginning.

Ten years later, I completed my degree and eventually went on to earn my Master of Jurisprudence in Labor and Employment Law from Tulane University.

In this episode of the Living Deeply Podcast, I share why returning to school was one of the best decisions I've ever made, even when someone close to me discouraged me from pursuing my education.

I discuss the power of believing in yourself, refusing to let someone else's doubts become your limitations, and recognizing that your life doesn't have to follow society's timeline.

Returning to school didn't just change my career opportunities. It expanded my thinking, strengthened my independence, challenged beliefs I'd inherited, and helped shape the woman I am today.

This episode is a reminder that it's never too late to begin again, invest in yourself, or pursue a dream you once put aside.

Your past is part of your story, but it doesn't get to write your future.

  • Choosing Indifference: Rather Than Love or Hate

In this episode of the Living Deeply Podcast, Markieta explores the emotional freedom that comes from choosing indifference rather than love or hate toward people who are no longer welcome in your life.

Not every relationship needs to end in forgiveness, reconciliation, or resentment. Sometimes healing means reaching a place where you no longer need an apology, closure, revenge, or even an explanation.

Discover why indifference isn't cruelty, how hatred can keep us emotionally connected, and why protecting your peace sometimes means allowing people to become irrelevant to your life.

You don't have to wish someone well or wish them harm. You can simply choose not to be emotionally invested anymore.

  • What if Christianity is a Socially Acceptable Cult?

What if Christianity is a socially acceptable cult?

In this bold and thought-provoking episode of the Living Deeply Podcast, Markieta challenges the social acceptance of Christianity and examines the similarities between high-control religious environments and groups commonly labeled as cults.

Drawing from her personal experiences growing up as a Black woman in the South, Markieta explores religious indoctrination, fear-based teachings, psychological manipulation, Christianity's historical role in slavery, and the weaponization of religion in families and relationships.

She also discusses why questioning Christianity is often treated as rebellion, how religious conditioning can affect personal autonomy, and why leaving organized religion doesn't mean abandoning morality or personal growth.

This episode isn't about converting anyone or attacking individual Christians. It's about challenging religious double standards, recognizing coercive practices, and reclaiming the freedom to think independently.

  • Spiritual Ignorance: When Your Beliefs Become a Barrier to Understanding

Being religious doesn't automatically mean you're spiritually educated.

In this thought-provoking episode of Living Deeply Podcast, Markieta explores spiritual ignorance, religious indoctrination, and how inherited beliefs can prevent us from understanding perspectives beyond our own.

As a Black woman raised in the Christian South, Markieta examines the historical relationship between slavery, forced Christianity, and the suppression of African ancestral spiritual traditions. She challenges listeners to consider how generations of religious conditioning have influenced what we believe, what we fear, and what we've been taught to condemn.

From chakras and ancestral connections to religious judgment and spiritual independence, this episode explores why questioning inherited beliefs is not a sign of confusion or mental illness, but can be an expression of personal growth and critical thinking.

You don't have to abandon your beliefs to become spiritually educated. But you do have to be willing to learn beyond them.

  • Why I Don't Co-Parent Anymore Part 2 — Choosing Parallel Parenting for Peace

Markieta explains why she moved from collaborative co-parenting to a parallel parenting approach: she still meets her responsibilities and communicates what’s necessary, but limits emotional entanglement with her former partner.

She outlines how clear boundaries, intentional communication, and attention to her daughter’s growing independence help her stay present, protect her energy, and parent responsibly.
