In Part 1, Markieta explains why she chose parallel parenting and stepped away from trying to maintain a closely collaborative co-parenting relationship. She shares how clearer boundaries help her protect her energy, keep communication focused on her daughter, and support her daughter’s growing independence. She also discusses sharing essential information, following parenting agreements, and keeping children out of adult conflict.

Can digital oracle cards feel just as meaningful as a physical deck? In this episode of Living Deeply, I explore common beliefs about both formats and share why digital cards fit my life, my preference for privacy, and my complete inability to shuffle gracefully.
I also share my perspective that if you feel your ancestors, spirit guides, or angels are guiding your card selection, that connection doesn’t have to depend on whether you’re holding a deck or tapping a screen.

My coaching isn't for everyone, and I'm completely okay with that.
In this episode of the Living Deeply Podcast, I share why I exclusively coach women, why being an LGBTQ+ woman and non-religious professional is central to how I show up, and why I believe professional relationships should be built on alignment, accountability, and mutual respect.
I also introduce Thriven Humans, my women-only, LGBTQ+ affirmative community, and explain why I chose "Thriven" instead of "Thriving." For us, thriving isn't something we're waiting to achieve. It's a recognition of the strength, resilience, and growth we've already demonstrated.
From women's empowerment and executive coaching to business strategy, website design, automation, lead generation, social media management, officiating, event singing, and speaking, my work reflects both my diverse experience and my values.
I also discuss why empathy doesn't mean enabling excuses, why coaching isn't a replacement for mental healthcare, and why I refuse to compromise my authenticity or tolerate the bullying and dehumanization of LGBTQ+ people.
And yes, we talk about why I openly discuss religion, sexuality, relationships, family dysfunction, and other topics that make people clutch their pearls.
If you're considering working with me, this episode will help you understand who I am, what I stand for, and whether we're aligned.

We aren't aspiring to thrive. We are Thriven. It is already so.
Markieta reflects on being the "black sheep" of her family and how the independence, solitude, and ability to think for herself prepared her to step in when her sister died—handling practical decisions, asking hard questions, and supporting family amid overwhelming grief.
She explores how strength and grief can coexist, the cost of temporarily holding everything together, and the importance of eventually stepping back to grieve, heal, and rest.

Markieta reflects on growing up as the family’s "black sheep" and how being different and comfortable with solitude ultimately became a source of strength. She describes how solitude taught her to think for herself, set boundaries, and stop seeking constant validation.
By embracing her differences, she found freedom to love her family without living exactly like them, to ask hard questions, and to choose herself even when it means standing alone. Part two will explore how these qualities helped her through a difficult life moment.

This episode explains how mental health treatment or a diagnosis does not automatically mean you are legally incompetent and offers practical steps to demonstrate your capacity—using provider statements, employment records, daily functioning, credible witnesses, timelines, and independent evaluations.
It also advises on protecting private therapy records, focusing on your functioning (not diagnosing others), working with an attorney, and remembering that seeking help can show insight and responsible decision-making.

She explains how past patterns train your nervous system to react, why that reaction doesn’t mean you haven’t healed, and how healing can actually help you recognize and refuse disrespect sooner.
The episode offers practical guidance on regulation, boundary-setting, and making choices that protect your peace—reminding listeners that healing isn’t numbness, but learning what to do when you’re hurt.
