In this deeply personal episode, I sit down with my mom to talk about what it was like raising my sister and me as a single, divorced mom working full-time.
She opens up about navigating co-parenting with different rules, parenting through heartbreak, and showing up for her kids even when she felt completely broken. We talk about how divorce impacted her faith, how she kept shame from consuming her, and how the people in her life helped her survive one of the hardest seasons.
My mom also shares what she wishes other single moms knew, and how she handled introducing someone new into our lives. It's emotional, honest, and filled with wisdom for any woman walking through divorce, single motherhood, or simply trying to hold it together when everything feels like it's falling apart. Plus, we laugh about the messy, real-life moments—like me locking myself out of the house and calling her at work to save me (again).
If you're a single parent who's ever wondered, "Can I really do this?"—this one's for you.

Show Notes:
Are you truly aware of the emotional blind spots that might be holding you back in your relationships, faith, and personal growth? In this episode, Lindsey Maestas dives into the power of conviction, the importance of self-awareness, choosing sin, and spiritual complacency.
Lindsey thought of a random ChatGPT prompt on her drive home from Florida and realized how helpful it was. This prompt helped her to explore hidden thought patterns, emotional wounds, and unhealthy habits that impact her daily life.
James 1:22 reminds us not to just hear the Word but to do what it says, because ignoring, or justifying, conviction is self-deception.
If you've ever struggled with repeating the same mistakes, feeling stuck in unhealthy cycles, or wondering why certain relationships feel strained, this episode is for you. We talk about living out true repentance, not just feeling guilty but actively making changes with God's help.
Self-awareness isn't about self-improvement alone—it's about surrendering to Jesus and letting His conviction shape us into who we're meant to be. Whether you're dealing with pride, control, defensiveness, or fear, God is calling you to more.

Falling into a relationship—whether romantic, familial, or platonic—with a narcissist can leave you feeling emotionally drained, confused, and questioning your own reality. In this episode, I dive into the signs of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), how narcissistic behaviors manifest in relationships, and the lasting impact they can have, especially when it's a parent.
We'll talk about love-bombing, emotional manipulation, gaslighting, isolation, and why narcissists seem so charming at first—only to leave you feeling unworthy and unseen. Most importantly, I'll unpack what healing looks like as a Christian, how to set boundaries without guilt, and why their treatment of you isn't a reflection of your worth.
If you've struggled with toxic relationships, this episode is for you.

Do you feel like your mind is a constant battleground? In this powerful episode, Lindsey Maestas dives deep into the reality of how negative thoughts, lies from the enemy, and habitual unhealthy patterns can physically impact your health and happiness. She discusses how anxious attachment and unchecked cognitive distortions like catastrophizing or black-and-white thinking can trap you in a cycle of stress and illness, and strengthen the addiction of negativity through neural pathways.
Lindsey shares how living out an active faith, creating new thought patterns, and focusing on our own personal growth--rather than blameshifting--can change everything. She calls you up to:
This episode is filled with actionable steps and biblical wisdom to help you reshape your negative thinking and experience a healthier, more joyful, and more positive life.
I'm back!!! I am so happy to be recording again! Please ignore the slight echo; I'm replacing my office rug and haven't received it yet and my bare floors + microphone aren't a great mix. On today's episode, I'm talking about happiness, joy, and discipline. It's an honest episode about my struggles in 2024, worldly pursuits and the lack of their fulfillment, abiding in Jesus, and making choices to better yourself for the sake of your family. I touch on how gratitude, generosity, and obedience in discipline have changed my life and pray that this encourages you to pursue the same. The difficulties of life are easy to see when they're right in front of us. They're even easier to see when it's all that we're looking for. I recently heard a podcast episode that shifted my entire perspective on how I view the difficult moments of life. After a season of much difficulty, a lot of complaining, and a lot of stress, I realized that I needed a perspective shift and a heart change. Life is really tough. It's such an interesting experience to walk through life; it's deeply sweet and beautiful but equally confusing and painful. I believe that our faith and our minds shape the way that we live. I pray that this brief episode helps you to navigate the hard moments of life and want to leave you with the question, "Would you take away all of the hard if it meant that you also had to take away the good?" The Living Easy Podcast will be taking a break after this episode so that I can focus on some family time and will be back in mid-June. We are, as always, praying that you will still be here when we get back!
