Living Lucky® Podcast with Jason and Jana Banana

So many people assume  they know themselves better than they know anyone else, but most have so many "Versions" of themselves, they can't remember the Original Recipe. 

We pick up  ideas, thought, beliefs, habits and words by a mix of intentionality and happenstance, like static cling. How did I end up thinking that? Oh, Dad always said “Rich people are crooks.” That’s why I don’t want my dad to know I’m a millionaire, he’ll think I’m a crook. That’s also why I almost lost it all. Subconsciously, it wasn’t fitting in with what I believed.
I’m honest, I did the right things; earning, saving, and generating my wealth. Then I sabotaged it.
Luckily, Jana and I had a moment where we decided to invest in ourselves…Literally… I think it’s literally in this case. The money didn’t go into us 😂 , but everything else did. We were empty and now we are full.
We got some coaches, mentors, and spiritual leadership and turned ourselves around.

We’ve been doing the same for our clients for the last 3 years.

Everywhere we turn it seems like the media, the news, and the general populous is selling fear, death, and end of times.   It doesn't matter if it is real or news or not any more. 
Is it true that horrific things happen during the week around the country and around the globe? Absolutely, but having it on a 24 hour news loop and covers of all the magazines in the check out line at the grocery store just in case your 6 year old didn't hear about it doesn't "help" the world.  It's selling to fear.

What you focus on is what you will become more aware of. 

Turn down the focus on the anxiety in your life and turn up the focus on your gratitude and all the things that bring you joy and happiness. Limiting Beliefs

We did this podcast live from the Laundromat... Wait for it. OMG!!!

We did a Love Yourself Challenge last year. We challenged participants to look at themselves in the mirror and address themselves... kindly.  Forgive themselves.... fully. Commit to to themselves some specific things they will do to love themselves more on a daily basis. 

Notice your inner dialogue. Are you speaking kindly to yourself? Is your language supportive, or abusive, or a little abrasive? Could it be nicer? 

What songs are you playing on your jukebox? Do you constantly hit the buttons for the sad songs, or are you picking those "first day of spring break' songs?  Break-up songs or "I'm Walking On Sunshine"?

Have you gotten off your routine, then realized it is SO HARD to get back into it?
Get back to the basics. It's okay to start building back slowly.

Skip this podcast. This is what it feels like to be completely off your routine. Have fun getting it back.  Get back to productive, but don't forget the fun.  The reason you got out of routine in the first place was probably because you weren't't having enough fun.

Also, Never tell your wife, "Based on your size, you're going to need to order BIG GIRL size." ... And just as I said it, her ears swole up so much the backs of her earring popped off.

Jana gets vulnerable about being stuck in low energy for a week.  We needed a little change in our lives. We studied enneagrams several years ago, but didn't dive deep into it.  It was just a fun read and quick study. This week we decided to take a 6 week deep dive. We're a week in and we are learning so much about ourselves and it has given us so much more room to visit new perspectives and communicate with our emotions.

2 weeks into this Enneagram deep dive and we are even more in control of how we react and respond to stimulus in our environment.  80% of our thought worms turn negative. 95% of the things we think about day to day are repetitive thoughts from yesterday.  We HAVE to take control of which thoughts worms we grab and feed into.
We can only really control our perceptions, our thoughts, and our actions.

Have you ever been so overwhelmed that you felt like you couldn't move?  You felt STUCK? 
Sometimes Jason gets so many ideas, or projects, going at once that he describes it as being on an overly crowded bus with no room to move.  You have to get off, get away from it all for a minute, just to hear yourself and stretch out....see what's actually happening around you.
Give yourself the gift of space. Take time for zero tasking. Meditation and nature are Jason's ZenZones. Move everything out, clear the clutter, and allow space for fresh air and ideas to come in.

The Amount of information available in the world doubles every 24 hours.  According to Tony Robbins, an Oxford Study says 45% of jobs will be going away in the next 15 years and we will have the most change in humanity over the next 5-10 years... ever.
There's a mix of truth in that thought process.

Jana describes going to the doctor to get a prescription for her handicap parking placard that hangs from her car mirror as being foisted. It felt as though she was getting an unwelcomed finger in the butt. 

6 months ago, Jana had a complete physical and colonoscopy (August 2022). Here in February 2023, it's recommended to get a full tune-up... again.  What's up with that?  Was she having unnecessary medical checks foisted on her?

Have you whittled your "green time" down to your commute from the front door to your car door?  Have you even thought about how often you go outside, to be outside?

There is mindless, rudderless winding down, numbing out, bingeing on Netflix and video games (screen time) that may not actively restore or help your physical, mental, or emotional state.  Spending time outside in nature, can and will have a more positive effect on your overall wellbeing.

Celebrate your wins. Enjoy the journey (the process).  We have been on a path a self development for several years.  When we decided that we would watch football from 4-9 on Sunday, we headed to the grocery to get snacks. Jason grabbed spinach and carrots.  He is loving the journey.

When you "treat" yourself, are you treating yourself well, or poorly? Your subconscious knows when you're sabotaging yourself.

PRO TIP: Write down 10 thing that made you feel like a winner, when you felt successful and confident.  Read that list every morning when you wake up and before you go to sleep.

Jana's TEDx dress rehearsal was perfect and that made her a little paranoid for the LIVE performance.  We walked her through some coaching tips and she crushed it.
