What Road Are You On?

When you head out on a road trip, where you end up depends on which road you take. If you take the wrong road, you won't end up at your destination. Our road trip of life is much like that; where we spend eternity is determined by the road we take here on earth.

Have you ever taken a road trip where you knew the destination but you had no idea what you would do when you got there? Maybe you just thought, "We will just play it by ear, go with the flow, just see what happens after we get there." That might work, no plan, no agenda; but, God doesn't operate that way. He has a plan for us that incorporates every day and aspect of our lives. Just like he had a plan for Phillip to take a road trip to gaza to share the good news with an Ethiopian.

Saul's road trip to Damascus did not go as planned. He encountered a divine detour that changed his whole life. But this detour would be one of the best things that happened for Saul and Christianity. Saul's transformation is more than just a story though; it is something that we can be encouraged by even today.

Have you ever had your road trip interrupted? Maybe you had to cancel at the last minute or something happened along the way that completely changed you itinerary or altered your trip. That's what happened to Jesus as he traveled through Jericho headed to Jerusalem. His trip was altered by a blind man and a tax collector.
