CELEBRATORY GIVEAWAY EPISODE! Come listen this week as I interview my husband on this whole Living With Less journey and what it looks like to him. Come here the story of how God used the same 3 words "Live With Less" with him. You'll get to hear is heart on a good place to start this journey in your faith, how he got to see God bring unthinkable to fruition, what trusting God and his goodness looks like. You may also find out how he likes his coffee and some other fun things.
What did you think when God laid "Live With Less fear and anxiety" on your heart?
As I started to feel overwhelmed I thought that I needed to pause and just pray.
In doing so I felt this rush from within, which I know is the Holy Spirit, and in that moment I
heard God speak to me, telling me to take a step back, breathe, and to “make one decision at a
time, Live With Less fear and anxiety.” It’s so simple, yet so complex.
I, like many, I have a tendency to dwell on the current and then project it out to what it could be, but that’s more than God made us to handle.
If you could tell someone what to rid their life of first when it comes to Living With Less of the things getting in the way of who Christ is calling them to be, what would you tell them?
If I could share one thing I believe this ties back into my previous answer of “anxiety”. This is
something that everyone struggles with and the enemy is so good at using it to make us doubt
God and ourselves. It consumes us entirely. Despite scripture telling us to “cast your burdens on
Him” and to “not be anxious about anything” we often can’t help ourselves. There’s immense
peace in learning how to take a step back, make one decision at a time, and taking it from there.
What was something God put on your heart 8-10 years ago that has now come to fruition? What would you tell someone who is having a hard time trusting God's goodness?
I wouldn’t have thought my life would have turned out the
way it has. Where I was at with my career, with relationships, it just didn’t seem possible. At times I was overloaded with decisions and struggling to follow my
path. Looking back I can now see how God has graciously opened doors, guided me to them,
and at times even pushed me through. I know it’s a bit cliché, but the old saying is so true: to
make God laugh tell Him that you’ve got a plan.
Favorite bible verse and why?
Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ. I no longer live, but it is Christ who lives in me.
The life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved and died for me.
I have this verse tattooed on my arm, along with my baptism date of 4-4-10 as a reminder that I am a
new creation in Him, that He loved/loves me SO much that He gave his only Son for me, and that
Christ is still alive, in me. The last part I feel often gets overlooked, but is so incredible and
powerful to think, to realize that Christ is IN us. Going back to my LWL moment, this is so
important to remember as God tries to keep us focused on the here and now, and when we get
off track like I did He is there to speak to us, like he did to me.
