Today, I’d like to talk again about patience. If you know me a bit, you know I’ve been the most impatient person on this planet. And I still see my old self in my elder son because I handed a lot of this impatience over to him. I hope I can teach him what I’ve learned in the past years before I leave this world. This is so crucial because living a life with this much impatience is so stressful and so frustrating. As I was so impatient with myself, I was impatient with others, with my loved ones, with my colleagues at work, and with everyone who crossed my path during my day.

What I like to teach you in this episode is that it’s never too late to approach things differently. If I had stayed convinced that my soon 88-year-old parents were difficult and it was completely impossible to change our relationship, I would have never experienced those beautiful moments with them which I do have and enjoyed for the last few months. And I am so grateful for every Saturday we can spend together all three of us because it might be our last one.

Today, I’d like to be very honest with you and tell you how sometimes I still struggle with starting my day with a positive mindset. Since my book publication “Living Without Fear” I feel more fragile than usual. And it’s definitely because I put myself much more out than in the past. I organized my first reading in my Swiss hometown called Winterthur, and I handed my book to my nearly 88-year-old parents and expected them to be upset with me because I published some family secrets (full story in Podcast “Don’t Be Afraid of Others’ Opinion”). I really listened to my heart when I was 54 and a mentor told me to think about my biggest dream. At that time, I was a Social Media Manager and website builder, not feeling fulfilled by writing for others. But then, I knew I had to write my own books. I started small, with my first children’s book ‘Leonard and Loulou’, knowing that there is a bigger project waiting for me. I wanted to write about my parents and my struggles of never feeling seen, heard, or understood. As I was afraid of their reactions, I postponed this book ‘Living Without Fear’ until this year. Now, as it is published, I realize how important this book is for many people because I’m not the only one who is afraid of putting myself out and honestly sharing my feelings. I’m so grateful for all the mentors who helped me and still do, to grow and show you how important it is to follow your heart and your dreams.
