Talked with Rudy Johnson - co - founder of Misery Tourism for three and a half hours.
I wanted to know who Rudy was - as I've attended misery tourism readings off and on for over a year or so and Rudy and Will are very, very cool and kind people.
They've always been super sweet to me. And Rudy's been patient and kind to me over the ups and downs of putting this episode out.
The only reason I'm putting this out is because this interview could not be replicated in any way. There's cool moments of discovery in here.
On this episode, I asked Joss Barton some questions! There's over two hours of audio and the episode picks up right off as our conversation does as well.
Joss is a lovely poet and drag performance artist! Lives in Chicago. Joss's work and poems (stealing this from art matters foundation dot org :
'documents queer and trans* life, love, and liberation. Her work blends femme-fever dreams over the soundtrack of the American nightmare. Combining prose poetry, non-fiction confessional essays, drag artistry, and spoken word stage performances, Joss examines the myriad states of queer trans womanhoods from historical, political, and pop cultural identities of death, desires, dreams, and disco.'
Here's some links to zines she's previously put out

'Miss Unity is the stage name of Mathias Todd Mietzelfeld, an American writer, singer-songwriter, and drag performer, and the reigning fifth-place runner-up of the annual karaoke contest at the Otsego County Fair.
He has published essays, fiction, and poetry in places like Hobart, Misery Tourism, Expat Press, X-R-A-Y, and Fugitives & Futurists.'
His first book, the essay collection WHO KILLED MABEL FROST? is forthcoming in 2023 from SF/LD Books.

In this episode I talked with Shabby Doll House alumni Maggie Lee (they / them)
This was a cool episode!
They spoke on attending parties and being real good friends with Sarah Jean and Lucy K Shaw! We had a fun and lively conversation about queerness and their early beginnings in New York and recently moving to L.A. with their partner.
I'm a freaking dork, okay for Shabby Doll House! We really didn't get into like writing or stories. Just more like what it's like to be a part of the Shabby Doll House community. They were awesome. Who is Peter BD, by the way?
Thanks for listening!!!
On this episode of Low Fi Lit, I talked with Julianne Neely! She's a poet! From New York. From Staten Island.
She's been published in many journals from Babe Soda to the infamous Hobart, to OMG the freakin coolest one of all time - the one and only - the best in the world today across many universes and boundaries - it's gotta be that damn Peach MGZN! WOW
I'm not good at these descriptions, man. She goes to school and worked on Sesame Street which has had an impact on her writing. She read some poems, too!!
She was a film major ! WHAT . Went to Iowa!?!? Goes to Buffalo. She's an experimental poet !! And just lots of fun. I had so much fun. One of my favorites.
I feel like I'm getting more comfortable with these things.
This was so cool. We kept talking and talking for so long, ya'll.
Nico sat down with me on this fine evening and we had a nice short discussion on the aspects of their work and their future in writing. They are not yet published, and they use twitter as a means of producing poetry right now, Stay till the very end!
Some guests stop by.
If you're looking for a lot of analysis, well this is certainly the episode for you! So much analysis. Esp for everyone out there named Mark. This episode is for you, my dudes.
In this episode of Low Fi Lit, I chat with the visionary/ writer/ spectacular artist Mary Boo Anderson. She's an art teacher who recently moved to California, I believe. She's done so much work from creating satirical videos on her youtube page taking on corporations. to publishing poems in literary journals.
You can find her work in Spy Kids Review, Fence and Witchcraft Mag.
You can see all the links and the art exhibits, she's been featured in by visiting her website - CV - Mary Boo Anderson
We speak about her jobs, her writing process and I even analyze some of her poem, "IN IKEA AT THE END OF THE WORLD" from neutral spaces.
