Locked On Broncos - Daily Podcast On The Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are in their final stages of preparation for Sunday's matchup against the New England Patriots. Thursday's Injury report looked promising for the Broncos as Drew Lock continued to receive full reps, and Noah Fant made it back onto the field for the second consecutive day on a limited basis which puts his status for Sunday as truly questionable. Who are the players to watch for the Broncos in Sunday's matchup if the Broncos want to have a strong chance of leaving Foxboro with a victory? Plus what are the realistic expectations for the Denver Broncos and Drew Lock in his first game back since Week 2?

The Denver Broncos returned to the practice field on Wednesday and quarterback Drew Lock took full team snaps. It appears as if Lock will make his return for the Broncos this Sunday when they face the New England Patriots. On the Patriots side of things, both Cam Newton and Stephon Gilmore will be returning to the field which will make the matchup even more competitive for both sides. Broncos RB Melvin Gordon's status for Sunday is up in the air after being charged with a DUI on Tuesday. What would a potential loss of Gordon mean for the Broncos offense who will be getting Phillip Lindsay back into the mix?

There is ongoing discussion amongst Broncos fans regarding the comparisons being made between Drew Lock and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. Both players situations have been entirely different, and the overall rise of one player does not mean that another player is incapable of doing so. Cody Roark discusses the AFC West's talent at the QB position and why fans shouldn't compare Lock and Herbert's situations, and why fans need to be patient as Lock returns from injury. The NFL ruled that the Denver Broncos BYE week would be Week 5, despite the fact that they practiced leading up to Week 5. The Broncos first portion of the season is done which means that we need to grade the starters on offense and defense through four games.

The Denver Broncos were originally scheduled to play the New England Patriots this afternoon, but now that game has been rescheduled for this upcoming Sunday after initially being delayed twice. Broncos players and fans were not happy about the NFL's decision to change the schedule, removing the Broncos from having a BYE week and forcing them to be at a point where they'll play 12 consecutive games. Cody Roark breaks down the news + we hear from Broncos head coach Vic Fangio from his Sunday press conference regarding the team's mentality going forward. Cody also discusses whether or not the NFL has done a good job of handling the rescheduling of games in the COVID climate with Zach Segars.
