Locked On Islanders - Daily Podcast On The New York Islanders

New head coach Patrick Roy has brought passion and intensity to the New York Islanders. While it will take some time for him to make the changes he wants and to implement his system, we are already seeing some differences since his arrival.

We also discuss the possible addition of Benoit Desrosiers as a new assistant coach which has been rumored but has yet to be made official.

The Islanders also activated goalie Semyon Varlamov off IR and returned Ken Appleby to Bridgeport.

And we have a full preview of tonight's home game against the defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights.

All this and more on today's Locked On Islanders Podcast with Gil Martin.

There are two New York Islanders players who are in danger of fatigue from overuse and the Isles will need both of them down the stretch if they hope to make a playoff run. The first is Noah Dobson, who has played a lot of minutes with all of the injuries on the blue line. The other is Ilya Sorokin who has played the last eight games and will almost certainly play more with Semyon Varlamov on IR.

We also discuss what the Isles options are if they have to play without Casey Cizikas for any length of time after Zeke was injured against Vancouver.

And we have a full preview of tonight's home game against John Tavares and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
