The San Francisco 49ers have bad vibes this year despite having a good roster and that continued to show with Kyle Shanahan's accident and Ricky Pearsall's new season-ending injury. The 49ers always seem to have a backup, but at some point we can't ignore they have some bad karma that could affect the season. We have two major hold-ins to monitor at the running back position over the next few weeks. One in Atlanta and the other in Detroit. The Falcons have been paying everyone this offseason and Bijan Robinson is next. While for the Lions, Jahmyr Gibbs wants to his pay day as well. Neither team should be viewed as a true contender this season. Finally, in the NFC South, both the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints are already deal with big injuries, but the Saints had some good news at least in the form of the Chris Olave extension.

The Dallas Cowboys have had an uncharacteristic offseason filled with no drama and smart moves, but at the buzzer of the offseason the Cowboys could look to get back to their old ways and make a splash trade. Recent comments from Jerry Jones have put the NFL on notice. The Washington Commanders have been connected to Brandon Aiyuk all offseason, but with Aiyuk's strange behavior on social media, that doesn't seem likely. If Aiyuk isn't an option, the Commanders will have a massive hole at their WR2 spot and it could hinder Jayden Daniels from getting back to his rookie form. Finally, in the NFC West, the two best teams in the NFL last year will battle it out once again. The Los Angeles Rams are obviously the big winners of the offseason, but the Seattle Seahawks are still the champs.

The Buffalo Bills are kicking off training camp in one of the most high-pressure environments in the NFL. Buffalo went to the divisonal round last year and made a coaching change off the loss. That means if they don't get farther this season, it was a failure. The Cincinnati Bengals aren't in the same spot, but pressure is still high after missing the playoffs multiple years in a row. If Cincy doesn't get back in, heads could roll in the Queen City. The Denver Broncos don't have the same pressure after a great 2025, but now the bar has been raised and anything less than playoffs would feel like a massive failure. Having Bo Nix fully healthy at quarterback is a great start. Finally, the Chicago Bears set the NFL on fire last year, but again, that creates expectations. Chicago is a good team, but there are some clear holes on the roster that make them shakier than folks realize.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a disappointing season last year when they missed the playoffs, but as they start training camp, vibes certainly haven't improved. Baker Mayfield still doesn't have a new contract and things seem to be heading towards him not getting one. Then Vita Vea requested a trade. Two pillars of the team are now in flux. Staying in the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons are hoping to get back to the playoffs for the first time in a long time, but first they need to decide between Tua Tagovialoa and Michael Penix at quarterback. Finally, in the AFC South, the Jacksonville Jaguars want their respect after winning the division last season and the Indianapolis Colts are looking to overcome their late-season slide and get back to the level of play they had early in 2025.

The San Francisco 49ers tumultuous offseason continues as training camp begins with the news of Kyle Shanahan being involved in a car accident that will leave him limited in his coaching duties. This has a major impact on the 49ers development even with all the talent they deploy. The Detroit Lions will deal with some limitations themselves as they will have both safeties on PUP to start camp. This has to give Lions fans concern after dealing with all the injuries in 2025. Finally, the Cleveland Browns have one thing that will make their training camp interesting -- the quarterback battle. Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy seems to have a preference and it is Deshaun Watson, but is that really the best option for the Browns? Tyler doesn't believe so.
