Locked On Panthers - Daily Podcast On The Carolina Panthers

After 15 seasons of coaching the New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton decided to call it quits on Tuesday afternoon. Payton's retirement comes a year after franchise QB and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees also decided to pack it in. Elsewhere in the NFC South, Tom Brady's future is up in the air and the Atlanta Falcons are still the Atlanta Falcons. Julian Council explains why Payton's decision places even more pressure on Matt Rhule in what was already a crucial offseason for the embattled head coach heading into make or break season in Year 3.

The changing dynamics of the NFC South and NFC further highlights the failure of the Carolina Panthers team-building as the Panthers still don't have a long-term answer. Julian voices his frustration for the team not being prepared to take advantage of an ever-changing division.

The Panthers are among three teams the NFL can force to appear on HBO's Hard Knocks ahead of next season. Do you want to see the Panthers featured on the staple NFL program?
