Locked On Saints - Daily Podcast On The New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints can now comfortably hit the market for remaining free agency without leveraging their 2022 compensatory draft picks. They'll have to make space to do it, but there are names worth pursuing as the Saints look to fill up their training camp roster.

Cornerback, wide receiver, defensive tackle, and running back sit atop the list of positions New Orleans could address late in free agency. But how do they find the money to be aggressive?

How necessary is a veteran corner with Paulson Adebo drafted? Considering he may need time to reach his potential and get in rhythm and the question marks floating about Marshon Lattimore's availability at the top of the season, it should be a priority.

New Orleans Saints first-rounder Payton Turner has to fill in snaps from somewhere. Question is: will he take Trey Hendrickson's vacated snaps? Or do those disperse to fourth-year man Marcus Davenport? How Turner gets his snaps could inform the Saints on future decisions at his position.

Jay Stephens of Locked On Buckeyes joins to talk Pete Werner. Discussing the player, the person, and his fit in the New Orleans Saints' defense. Looks like he'll have an immediate path available to a starting role.

Trevor Sikkema's way-too-early 2022 NFL mock draft send another Buckeye to the Big Easy. It may be early, but it's one Saints fans would have cheered for in 2021.

The New Orleans Saints shocked again with the fourth-round selection of Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book. What's the plan with the winningest quarterback in Fighting Irish history? It's not to be a Taysom Hill clone, but Sean Payton isn't going to "put a ceiling" on the young prospect.

Kentucky OL Landon Young provides strength and explosion via late-round investment after the Saints trade up to grab him. Whether he'll be depth or development will come down to his ability to adjust to the NFL game.

South Alabama wide receiver Kawaan Baker gets the final draft nod by New Orleans. 27 touchdowns in his four years, with 12 different quarterbacks is pretty impressive. But so are his testing results and versatility. This seventh-rounder could have a clear path to the roster if he goes well.

Notes on every single UDFA so far, including a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, former special teams player of the year, and which prospects have the clearest path to the roster in a premiere UDFA destination.

On today's Locked On Saints, it's time to break down the New Orleans Saints two NFL Draft selections from day two. Peter Werner brings versatility, toughness, and tools to the Saints' linebacker competition with a chance to earn a spot playing next to Demario Davis. What you need to know about Werner and what he brings to the Big Easy.

The Saints also took a Locked On Saints favorite in Stanford cornerback Paulson Adebo. The former receiver packs a ton of talent and potential, but will he be able to contribute immediately after sitting 2020 out? New Orleans doesn't feel like they're done at corner, with the possibility of doubling up in the draft or heading back to free agency.

Looking ahead to NFL Draft day three. Who are some of the best names remaining at positions the Saints should consider and whether or not the Saints should remain aggressive and continue to pursue their trade ups.

On today's episode of Locked on Saints, Ross sets out to answer four important questions for New Orleans Saints fans.

High-motor, high-character, high-IQ, and a demolition artist on the defensive line, the Saints continue to focus on the trenches. Payton Turner brings another pass rushing option to a team that wants to be disruptive at the line. What does he need to improve and how quickly should Saints fans expect to see him on the field?
