One of the main goals this offseason is to make quarterback Tyler Shough comfortable. He did a great job as a rookie without a ton of help down the stretch, but how can they make sure that doesn't happen again? Playing a game to decide if Saints players had better or worse seasons than their teammates. Who on the offense should stay, and who should go? What is going to change on the coaching staff?

The New Orleans Saints expertly avoided the chaos of the 2026 NFL head coaching carousel, locking in Kellen Moore at the perfect moment and sidestepping fierce competition from playoff contenders like the Bills and Steelers. Uncovering how Moore’s 2025 arrival may shape the Saints’ future and why a stopgap solution would have been risky.

Key free agent targets including Buffalo’s David Edwards, Houston's Ed Ingram, and Pitsburgh's Isaac Seumalo ignite conversation on how to fix the Saints’ struggling interior offensive line. Brandon Staley’s history with high-impact edge rushers—namely Khalil Mack and Samson Ebukam—opens up possibilities for boosting defensive power. Why Odafe Oweh culd be a strong, less familiar, addition.

Plus, the Saints’ strong presence at the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl gives them an early start to NFL Draft scouting.

Tyler Shough could become the NFL’s next superstar quarterback with a Drake Maye or Bo Nix-like Sophomore jump. After a franchise record-breaking rookie season with the New Orleans Saints, all eyes are on Shough’s potential sophomore jump, drawing comparisons to Maye and Nix, passers who soared in year two.

The Atlanta Falcons’ head coaching hire of Kevin Stefanski shakes up the already chaotic NFC South, with the Saints’ path to the postseason becoming both more promising and more complicated. Stefanski’s offensive pedigree faces skepticism amid Atlanta’s nostalgic leadership moves, while the Saints gear up for potential coaching staff changes, especially in the run game and special teams.

Saints’ defensive free agent signings could save them from disaster in the 2026 NFL Draft. With major questions around Cam Jordan’s future and Alontae Taylor’s contract status, New Orleans must address edge rusher, possibly linebacker, and cornerback to avoid overreaching for prospects. Free agent standouts like Riq Woollen, Quay Walker, Boye Mafe, Adafe Oweh, and K'Lavon Chaisson offer immediate upgrades, potentially turning urgent draft necessities into luxuries.

The defensive line hinges on Granderson’s consistency and Chase Young’s trajectory, while Quay Walker’s elite tackling and versatility could be the answer if Demario Davis moves on. Should Taylor depart for a chance to play at outside corner elsewhere, Woollen’s zone coverage and ball skills make him an ideal fit for a revamped secondary.

0:24 – Plenty Of Free Agency Edge Rushers

10:17 – Linebacker Needs & Quay Walker

20:47 – Riq Woollen & Cornerback Solutions

The New Orleans Saints made their coaching change last year, but this year have some better options available. Should they feel like they missed out on options like Mike McDaniel and John Harbaugh, or should they be happy with Kellen Moore? Which position group fared the best last year, and which performed the worst? Which players are we excited to see take on bigger roles next season?

Nailing the right free agents could transform the New Orleans Saints’ 2026 NFL Draft from solid to game-changing. How adding a physical pass-catcher like Romeo Doubs, a dynamic running back such as Carolina’s Rico Dowdle, and bringing former LSU Tiger Ed Ingram to bolster the offensive line could turn critical team needs into luxury picks.

Each move frees the Saints to chase potential stars like Jordan Tyson or Jeremiyah Love without the pressure of immediate impact, letting new draftees develop while veterans handle the heavy lifting.

Recalling the magic of the 2017 Saints draft and free agency combo, the show explores whether New Orleans can recreate history by pairing smart signings with a strong draft class.

Caleb Downs’ unexpected at No. 8 overall transforms the New Orleans Saints’ midweek mock draft from near disaster to a defensive win. The Ohio State safety, lauded for his elite vision and disruptive playmaking, fits perfectly into Brandon Staley’s defense alongside Justin Reid and Jonas Sanker.

The offensive rebuild continues with Oregon guard Emmanuel Pregnon and Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch, while mid-round picks like Alabama defensive tackle Tim Keenan III and Penn State running back Kaytron Allen bring versatility and breakout potential.

Late-round sleepers Nadame Tucker, Tacario Davis, and Houston tight end Tanner Kaziol add crucial depth and upside.

The New Orleans Saints should not pursue Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and instead invest in young draft talent to build around Chris Olave. Salary cap flexibility, locker room culture, and future contract negotiations steer the debate, making this offseason’s wide receiver strategy a hot topic. Cost-controlled rookies like Jordyn Tyson, Carnell Tate, Elijah Sarratt, and Chris Bell could reshape the Saints’ offense without a blockbuster trade to disrupt their long-term plans.

QB Tyler Shough anchors New Orleans’ youth movement and offers flexibility amid roster-building challenges. With emerging stars like Devaughn Vele and promising defenders Chase Young, Jonas Sanker, and Kool-Aid McKinstry, the Saints have a foundation to attract top talent. Will they address interior offensive line and tight end depth in the draft or free agency? Plus, keep an eye on division rivals—Panthers running back Rico Dowdle might be looking for a new home and a revenge storyline.
