Can SMU defy expectations and claim a national championship? Grayson Singleton explores how Curt Cignetti's improbable triumph with Indiana resets the college football hierarchy—and why Rhett Lashlee’s Mustangs could be next in line. With 20 wins since joining the ACC, a top-10 returning quarterback in Kevin Jennings, and a revamped roster, SMU’s barriers feel lower than ever. Are “silly losses” all that’s standing between the Mustangs and a shot at glory?
