Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans desperately need to add wide receiver talent in the offseason, but that doesn't mean they need to lose talent as well by cutting Calvin Ridley. Ridley is certainly not worth the $26 million he will cost in 2026, but the Titans have plenty of cap space and there aren't going to be a lot of good options available. Ridley is still a GOOD player when healthy and should be a part of the receiver room unless something drastically better becomes available. However, players like L'Jarius Sneed and Tony Pollard should be gone. There are quite a few in-house free agents for the Titans as well whose situations need to be resolved before free agency like Chig Okonkwo and Kevin Zeitler, but the Titans should let both of them walk while working to retain key depth pieces like Sebastian Joseph-Day and backup offensive linemen. Finally, the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl with a dominant defensive performance and two things should bring Titans fans hope. Cam Ward COOKED Seattle when they played this year and Mike MacDonald was the first defensive play caller to win as a head coach, giving hope for Robert Saleh to do so.

TENNESSEE TITANS MOCK OFFSEASON: The Tennessee Titans may have only won three games in back to back seasons, but a perfect offseason in 2026 could have them back in the playoffs by the end of 2026. The Titans will need to strike gold on almost every move, but if they do it, it sets up for the type of quick turnaround we see in the NFL all the time. That perfect offseason starts with cutting players and retaining in-house free agents, but a player that shouldn't be cut is Calvin Ridley. Ridley is not worth what he will be paid in 2026, but with his talent and the Titans lack of it at wide receiver, there is no reason to move on. The Titans have plenty of cap space without cutting Ridley and they will use it to make some big signings like Michael Pittman Jr, Trey Hendrickson and Alontae Taylor. Adding some depth to the roster will also be the goal with smaller deals. After free agency, the Titans have to hammer home to draft and Tyler's 7-round mock gives the Titans exactly what they need starting with Reuben Bain and bringing in a playmaker like Zachariah Branch. If the Titans hit a homerun in all these areas, the playoff dream is ALIVE.

The Tennessee Titans desperately need a high-level edge rusher and with Maxx Crosby set to hit the trade block, many are wondering if he could wind up in Nashville, but as has been the case for years, the Titans simply aren't in a position to go all in on any player. There are massive needs all over the roster and using the draft capital the Titans have to fill those needs in the actual draft is the right way to go with Arvell Reese, Rueben Bain and Jordyn Tyson at the top of the list. The Titans also will need to find value in the later rounds at positions like linebacker and running back! Finally, the Titans have a chance to flip the franchise over the next five years and turn into not only a contender, but a certified premier franchise in the NFL!

The Tennessee Titans hired Robert Saleh and with his new defense coming in, a player like T'Vondre Sweat simply doesn't fit. Not only does Sweat not fit, but the truth is Sweat has not been worth the 38th pick in the NFL Draft as his ability as a pass rusher hasn't shown enough in his first two seasons. Sweat was already on the trade back last year and this offseason is the perfect time to deal him. The Titans also need to focus on having bigger edges in Saleh's four-man fronts. That means certain draft prospects like David Bailey aren't as clean of a fit as some think. At linebacker, the Titans will need speed and downhill attacking which means Cody Barton also doesn't fit the new plan. In the secondary, the focus must be on longer cornerbacks and versatile safeties as the Titans head into the major acquisition period of the offseason.

The Tennessee Titans went all-in to try and hire John Harbaugh before he ultimately went to the New York Giants and while it felt like the Titans missed out, we see now the Titans dodged a major bullet after Harbaugh hired Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator. Saleh may not have been the top choice, but sometimes it is the unanswered prayers you are thankful for the most. With Saleh and Brian Daboll now in control, the Titans will likely shift their roster and some big changes need to happen at quarterback, running back and wide receiver to match what Daboll needs. Not only that, but Chig Okonkwo could be an odd man out as Daboll's system doesn't really utilize a limited tight end of his skillset, but the offensive line will need to change as well as the interior requires strength and some quickness, specifically at center.

The Tennessee Titans have hired Gus Bradley as their defensive coordinator. This is a huge win for Robert Saleh as Bradley had other options that would have allowed him to call plays. Bradley adds even more massive experience to the coaching staff and adds another bald!(LOL). There was a major salary cap update this weekend and the Titans now have even more cap space than before, but the reality is this affects all teams and doesn't give the Titans some new advantage. Regardless, the money they have to play with is significant and there should be options to create even more room if needed. Finally, it is mock draft season, but it is clear from some of these mocks that people outside the Titans circle have no clue about the team and that is why there are so many with the Titans taking offensive line. Not only are those misinformed from a draft value perspective, but they also show a lack of understanding of how the offensive line played at the end of the season.

The Tennessee Titans hired Robert Saleh last week, but the final two head coach openings in the NFL just got filled. With all ten spots finalized, it is clear that Saleh to the Titans was one of the top hires of the cycle. Add in the quality of Saleh's staff, including Brian Daboll, and it might be the best of the entire bunch. That said, we still don't know who will be the defensive coordinator along with some open position coaches on defense. However, of the rumored names, Mike Rutenburg remains the best of the bunch because of his relationship with Saleh and the requirements of the defensive coordinator under Saleh, but if Gus Bradley is available, he would most likely get the spot. Finally, the Titans are set to get new uniforms this offseason and that may include a new logo. Tyler goes over what he wants to see and what to expect as the news eventually comes out.

Robert Saleh finally spoke at his opening press conference as Tennessee Titans head coach and "FAST & VIOLENT' was the theme of the day. Saleh spoke about Cam Ward, Jeffery Simmons and Brian Daboll in the process. While it was all nice to hear, the reality is Saleh's crew has to prove it on the field or all the words mean nothing. Brian Daboll's offensive coaching staff is essentially complete after we got the news that Shea Tierney, Carmen Bricillo and Greg Lewis will be joining Luke Stocker and Randy Jordan. While it is fair to be skeptical, this does look like a fantastic group that can get the best out of Cam Ward and crew. It also shifts the attention to the defensive side of the ball where Robert Saleh has yet to confirm his full group. Finally, some in the fan bases and fans of other teams seem to be using excitement about Brian Callahan as a reason to tell Titans fans not to be excited about Saleh, but a quick look at the differences in the experience level of the two staffs dispels that critique and should keep the excitement level just as high as it should be. Haters and trolls and cry babies can't ruin the HYPE!!

The Tennessee Titans have officially hire Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator and his system sets Cam Ward up perfectly to succeed because it allows Ward to use his greatest asset to attack defenses, his mind. Daboll's version of Erhardt-Perkins is ideally suited to give Cam control of how he can attack coverage and also makes it easy to make adjustments on the fly and play with tempo. Daboll has actually created more success in the run game though and his multiple scheme on the ground, along with involvement from QB runs, gives the Titans a chance to properly support Cam with a balanced look. Also, the incorporation of RPO is something Ward should be relishing as he succeeded with it in college. Robert Saleh brings his own unique defensive scheme to Tennessee which has shades of a defense most NFL fans know well, the Seattle Seahawks' legion of boom. Saleh uses a zone heavy scheme with four-man fronts and focuses on preventing points, even at the risk of allowing yards. Saleh also will give his introductory press conference on Thursday and Tyler wants to hear his answer on how he plans to deal with the potential loss of Daboll after the year.
