The Minnesota Wild clinched a playoff berth for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons but fell 4-3 in a shootout to the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. The Golden Knights led 1-0 after 1, but the Wild took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd on goals from Brandon Duhaime and John Klingberg early in the second. After Vegas tied it at 2, Matt Boldy scored his 30th goal of the season to give the Wild a 3-2 lead. Vegas scored with 30 seconds left and the game went scoreless in Overtime. In the shootout, Freddy Gaudreau and Joel Eriksson Ek scored, but the Golden Knights were able to prevail. Filip Gustavsson made 23 saves on 26 shots. The Wild will be at Pittsburgh on Thursday for their next game.
