The Minnesota Wild pulled away from the Detroit Red Wings with a 4 goal 3rd period en route to a 6-3 win at Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday night. The Wild picked up their 4th straight win and sixth in the last 7 games, while also improving to 11-3 under John Hynes. The Wild opened the scoring n Matt Boldy's 10th goal of the season to make it 1-0. After Patrick Kane tied it at 1-1, Marcus Johansson gave the Wild a 2-1 lead in the second period on his 3rd goal of the season. The Red Wings tied the score at 2-2 to start the 3rd period, but the Wild scored 3 straight goals, from Ryan Hartman, Marcus Foligno, and Johansson's second of the night to make it 5-2. After the Red Wings cut it to 5-3, Kirill Kaprizov scored his 13th goal of the season to make it 6-3. Filip Gustavsson stopped 25 of 28 shots to pick up his 10th win. The Wild face Winnipeg in a home and home to finish the 2023 portion of the schedule this weekend for their next games.
