The Minnesota Wild picked up a thrilling 4-2 win over Colorado to maintain their hold on first place in the Central Division on Wednesday night. The Wild led early on a goal from Marcus Johansson to make it 1-0. After the Avalanche tied things up, Sam Steel recorded his 9th goal of the season to make it 2-1 after 1. The Wild added a goal in the second from Freddy Gaudreau shorthanded to make it 3-1. The Avs got to within one at 3-2, but after a tense final two minutes, Freddy Gaudreau added an empty net goal to seal the win and the scoring. Filip Gustavsson stopped 42 of 44 shots to pick up the win. The Wild are at Vegas on Saturday for their next game.
