How was Fit for a Prince Similar to Cinderella?

There were a few similarities between Fit for a Prince and the classic Cinderella story but we'd never call it a retelling of the fairytale. We'd say the story had a light sprinkling of Cinderella.

Considering the main character was named Cindy Cordella which sounds similar to the name Cinderella. The two protagonists, Brooke and Julie, were definitely characters modeled after the wicked step-sisters. One might consider Margaret Hamilton to have shades of a fairy Godmother even though she didn't really do anything magical or special to help Cindy. And finally, the other seamstresses at the design house could be seen as Cinderella's helpful little mice dutifully sewing dresses for the wicked step-mother, Cindy's boss, Rebecca Raslyn.

What movies have Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow starred in?

Tyler Hynes is a Hallmark darling, having starred in seven movies (and made a cameo in one!) in the past two and a half years. Fans remember Tyler from hits like Sweet Carolina, Always Amore, Roadhouse Romance and An Expected Christmas.

True Hallmark fans know Erin Krakow as Elizabeth from When Calls the Heart. She has also starred in a number of Hallmark movies including Wendy's favorite A Cookie Cutter Christmas and the Father Christmas Trilogy.

Goodbye to the Great White North! Mix Up in the Mediterranean was filmed entirely in Malta and at the Phoenicia Hotel.

Malta is an island state located in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Sicily, Italy. Malta is one of the world's smallest countries. For 150 years, Malta was a British colony eventually gaining independency in 1964 and then joining the European Union in 2004.

The Phoenicia Hotel is a luxury 5-start hotel located in Valletta, Malta's capital city.

What is Mix Up in the Med About?

Mix Up in the Mediterranean stars Jeremy Jordan (tons of TV shows and Broadway stage credits) as twins Julian and Josh Northrop. The female lead is played by Jessica Lowndes (Silver on 90210). Chef Julian competes in a cooking competition but hurts his back and can't compete. His identical twin brother, Josh, steps in as Julian in hopes of winning to save Julian's restaurant. In the meantime, Josh - as Julian - starts to vibe with event planner Meg (Jessica Lowndes) - but Julian is married and Meg doesn't know there is a twin brother in the picture.

Hallmark Channel promoted Playing Cupid as a modern day re-telling of Jane Austen's Emma. Yes, Mia Quaranta De La Rosa who plays Clara does act as a Emma-type matchmaker for her fellow students and inevitably (spoiler alert!) for her dad and teacher.

Who is Julie Sherman Wolfe?

Julie Sherman Wolfe is an award winning screenwriter who spent 25 years in Los Angeles writing for sitcoms like Everybody Loves Raymond and full-length feature films for Disney and Paramount. She won a Writers Guild Award for her 2010 Avalon High script.

She is a prolific Hallmark Channel Movie writer including fan favorites like Birthday Wish and Wedding Every Weekend. Julie's recent work includes our favorite movie from the 2021 New Year, New Movies line up Taking a Shot at Love.

Julie currently lives with her husband and son in Avon, Connecticut. Fun fact: Avon, CT is the town featured in Taking a Shot at Love where Jenna (Alexa PenaVega) lives and helps Ryan (Luke Macfarlane) rehab his hockey injury.

Her focus when writing any script is its voice. Specifically, the banter and tone of the dialogue and that is what really made Taking a Shot at Love our favorite of the New Year, New Movies bunch.

Are There Any Easter Eggs in Taking a Shot at Love?

Yes, there is an Easter egg in Taking a Shot at Love. Julie explained she named Avon's winter festivities "Winterfest" as a nod to the Hallmark Channel's brand of new winter movies. PLOT TWIST: Hallmark Channel refreshed their "Winterfest" lineup in 2021 to "New Year, New Movies."

Right after our interview with Julie, it was reported that she will have a brand new movie debut on Saturday, April 17, 2021 as part of Hallmark Channel's Spring Fling movie line up. Fans of Pretty Little Liars and Netflix's To All The Boys I've Loved Before will be excited to see Janel Parrish star in Right in Front of Me.
