  • Girls Gone Hallmark: Beverly Hills Wedding

Love is in the air! Hallmark Channel's "Love Ever After" line up kicks off with "Beverly Hills Wedding" starring Brendan Penny as Cory and Brooke D'Orsay as Molly. Listen in as Megan and Wendy recap and review this brand new movie. Plus, the two reminisce about another television show with a similar title. Email the show at [email protected].

What is Beverly Hills Wedding About?

"Beverly Hills Wedding" stars Brooke D'Orsay as Molly who jumps into wedding planning for her little sister Sophia. Things go sideways when Molly enters and wins a fancy wedding through a sweepstakes entry. Will Molly and celebrity wedding planner Terrence Roquefort bulldoze Sophia and Jordan into a lavish wedding? How does Molly's ex Cory play a role in the planning process? Will Molly eventually put aside her utter annoyance with Cory? Spoiler alert: it all works out wonderfully in this solid 3/4 star Hallmark feature.

One of the best lines in Beverly Hills Wedding. This is Cory's response when wedding planner Terrence Roquefort tells him and Jordan that they are "straight out of central casting."

News and Notes about Beverly Hills Wedding

There are conflicting reports about where exactly Beverly Hills Wedding was filmed. From one source, the movie was filmed throughout the cities of Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, California. Another source claims it was filmed in Canada and British Columbia.

There were city shots of both Beverly Hills and Santa Monica used throughout the movie, yet, at no time were the actors ever in those shots.

If we were betting women, we'd conclude this movie was filmed entirely in Canada.

Bring on the wedding cake! This is a great scene in Beverly Hills Wedding.

    Mentioned in this episode

We couldn't help but notice the terribly dated font used in the opening credits. Megan was able to capture the graphic when she snapped this photo!

Are we the only ones who hated the font used in the opening credits of Hallmark Channel's Beverly Hills Wedding?

Yay for great music! We loved the cover of Weezer's Beverly Hills. It gave us all the music montage feels.

Did you know that we are hard core Beverly Hills, 90210 fans? We're written a lot about the show here over the years. See our Ultimate Guide and our night at the Peach Pit Pop Up. We're still looking for that clip of Donna Martin declaring that Jeremy Jordan is "alright."

  • Girls Gone Hallmark: Snowkissed

Megan and Wendy recap and review Hallmark Channel's new movie Snowkissed starring JenLilley and Chris McNally. Will the last movie of Hallmark Channel's New Year, New Movies line up be worth waiting for and how does it compare to the other January movies? Email the show at [email protected].

    What is Snowkissed About?

Snowkissed (from the IMDB) is about a travel-averse journalist (Jen Lilley as Kate) chasing her dream assignment where she soon finds herself mentoring a handsome B&B owner (Chris McNally as Noah) who wants to be a tour guide.

Kate made us laugh with the comment in Snowkissed because we're both guilty of doing the same thing.

    News and Notes about Snowkissed

Snowkissed was filmed in late 2020 and early 2021 in Manitoba and Banff. This is the second movie in the New Year, New Movies line up that was filmed on location in Banff.

The interior set scenes (inside the B&B, Kate and Jane's bedroom, and the wine and cheese market) were filmed at the gorgeous Pineridge Hollow. If you loved the furniture and decor in Snowkissed, definitely check out the Pineridge Hollow website here to shop.

  • Girls Gone Hallmark: A Winter Getaway

Megan and Wendy recap and review Hallmark Channel's A Winter Getaway starring Brooks Darnell and Nazneen Contractor. One question: What happened to the chili dog lunch? Email the show at [email protected].

A Winter Getaway stars Brooks Darnell as Joe and Nazneed Contractor as Courtney in this movie about mistaken identity and how that affects a budding romance.

News and Notes for A Winter Getaway

    * This movie was originally going to be called Love in the Alps and also Love in the Rockies.* A Winter Getaway was actually filmed in Banff, Alberta.* The gorgeous Fairmont Banff Springs Fairmont was used for the last scene as well as when we watched Joe and Courtney eat lunch after heli-skiing.* Brooks Darnell commented that he was happy to see Hallmark move in the direction of creating stories with people from diverse backgrounds. You can read the full interview here.* This movie drew some criticism about the sound level of the music which made it difficult to hear character dialogue.

Joe cautions Courtney that hitting the computer doesn't usually actually make the computer work better in A Winter Getaway.

  • Girls Gone Hallmark: A New Year’s Resolution

Megan and Wendy welcome fellow Hallmark Channel movie lover, Cally from Hallmark's The Spot, to recap and review A New Year's Resolution. The girls and their guest break down what they liked, what they wished for, those obvious "Uh-Oh" moments familiar to all Hallmark movies and several funny observations in "Did You See That?" Originally scheduled to air in 2019, Hallmark Channel inexplicably pulled this movie from their line up. But why? Wendy will tell you. Email the show at [email protected].

A New Year's Resolution stars Aimee Teegarden as Kelly (Julie Taylor from Friday Night Lights all grown up) and adorable Hallmark Movie regular Michael Rady as Tom. Will Kelly's demanding work schedule allow her to keep her resolutions in the new year? Can Tom uncover the fraud happening at his company? Is there any doubt these two fall in love along the way?

Blink and you'll miss the server with the huge mustache.

A New Year's Resolution was originally titled New Year, New Me and was slated for a 2019 Countdown to Christmas release. However, this movie was pulled from the schedule and instead put into the 2021 New Year, New Movies line up.

The movie was set in Milwaukee but filmed entirely in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Fun Fact: The Milwaukee Polar Plunge is a REAL New Year's Day event! See photos here from the 2021 Polar Plunge.

Don't take our advice. Apparently people do wear only bathing suits in the annual polar plunge.
