Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we continue our Advent 2020 prayers. Today we are reading out of Matthew 2:2 which says "“Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
"I labeled this devotional, Look For The Brightest Star and I know we just established those of us in big cities can’t really look for bright stars, but that’s not what I really meant.
In this verse it says “We saw a star when it rose and have come to worship him”. Lets’ lean onto that. Instead of literal stars, look for the brightest situations even in the darkest of times. Stars light up the night, and Jesus lights up your life. Look for his fingerprints of love and grace. Look for those he sends to you. He uses others to communicate with us. He is very much involved in your everyday life. So we can look to the glimmers of hope in our life, and worship Him. Just as they did 2,000 years ago.
If you’re walking around and life is tough, and you can’t see the shimmer glimpse of hope, maybe you are living in a figurative busy city, full of distractions, noise, and too much light. The only way to see the stars when you live in a city is to drive away from town, get to a place where it’s dark and then they will appear.
Maybe, you need to drive away from your distractions. Get away from the noise. Get alone and look for Him. I promise He will reveal himself to you."
