      • American Groove - #40 Pick a Side

We try and stay neutral when it comes to politics. Being that the recent terrorist attack that took place in Israel by Hamas. We can't stay silent. Dave has most of his family there, and more important where are the people in this conversation. What took place is tragedy, and crime again innocents. All this bloodshed for a right, a privilege and takes what's ours by any means.

The best way we can help the people right now, is raise awareness share perspectives. Realising this is humanitarian issue and not a conflict of interest. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families, loved ones and soldiers. In Hebrew we say "Am Yisrael Chai" which translates to "The people of Israel Live" and that means all the people.

          • #163 - Interview with Holly West from Dead Groove band

Interviewing a band member is another level. Working with artists and creators can be a real challenge when forming a group. But, Holly has not only made   "Dead Groove" band work. She does it with members who don't speak the same language or are from the same country. Even though that's the case the harmony and the drive from dead Groove is unreal.

What I loved most, the use of technology, randomness and suprise. Holly has worked on many projects and thru her career she's realised what you need is the recipe to make a band. Even more so using the internet as your tool connecting with people from all over.

Be sure to  check out holly, and listen to Dead Groove Band there rock n' roll, grungy, and head shaking all the way. Listen with the links below:

              • American Groove - #39 Define a Karen

On this weeks episode, we talked about "the Karen" only this time it was an experience in person. The amount of videos on social media about the so called "Karen" is immense. But, we never actually stop, and wonder what happened? Before the recording, and what happened after; we never get to see that unfold.  When Dave went to Publix, and saw this woman  called  a "Karen" and later finding her crying in at the exit is sad and odd.

What happens is, our attention span is next to nothing, so we don't actually know what where seeing. All were getting is a short clip of someone else's, reality not yours. And the simple truth, is experiencing life in reality, and not behind screens. You get something that you don't get when someone shows one version of the story.

                  • #162- Interview with Betty Refour

Today's guest, has a remarkable story. That is the power of art melded with a new way of speaking. Betty figured out, that her sister rose would draw doodles as away to talk. thru that she realised she developed a new bond with her sister, and thru that an artist career and path as a sister duo.

The truth is, as we learn thru todays conversation Betty and Rose are two very different artists. Betty is slow and can take a long time to finish a piece. Its the complete opposite with rose; she's very quick, a thought comes to mind and she's making the image.

To sum it up; what Betty and rose has accomplished together. Goes to show you no matter the obstacle as an artist, we have the opportunity if where willing to look for it. Be sure to check out there artwork and merchandise, with the links below:

                      • American Groove - #38 First Contact

Once again, the topic of our discussion revolves around extraterrestrial beings. This time, let's focus on a story from Mexico that happened a few weeks ago. A journalist presented humanoid mummified creatures to the Mexican congress, claiming to have had a mexican scientist test the DNA of these creatures in Mexico. At this point NASA and Neil Degrasse Tyson have their questions and are all saying the same thing. All the branches of science need to test these supposed extraterrestrial bodies and see if they are from another world.

We paused at the end to reflect on our lives and reconsidered our success. We discovered that it is possible to be successful and happy, even when work is demanding.

                      • #161 - Interview with Melissa Loggins

Today I was talking with a music teacher and owner of the music school "Music Authorty", Melissa Loggins based out of Atlanta, Georga. Being a music teacher is a unique opportunity to help artists grow and improve, allowing them to become the best version of themselves.

Melissa spends a lot of time with kids that are wanting to play instruments, giving them a different approach. Look, I know as a kid music teachers were boring a lot of the times they didn't show any passion or care for their craft. Melissa's main focus is to ensure that young children entering music school are treated with kindness and compassion, allowing them to have all possible creative freedom.

Realizing that we deserve to play our instruments, regardless of obstacles, is truly an eye-opening moment. If our soul is in it, and we love it, having a place like Music Authority can greatly help awaken our senses. Be sure to check out Music Authority and so much more. • American groove - #37 the Sunshine State

On this episode we started off with taking about Louis and obsessive barking to the point of irration and insanity. Also, having parents living with them and their obsession with moving your things or doing things that are down right a pain in the rear. My god, we love them. Today, the primary concern is the cyberattack on MGM Entertainment and the recent fires that took place in Lahaina. The attack that took place in Caesers palace in August dig deep and ask the obvious question how could they let something like this happen.

No sirens or warnings were given when the fires happened. It's strange how in situations like these, we can learn a lot by observing and considering all perspectives.  And asking all the questions.

                              • #160 - Interview with Michael Hull

Michael is a filmmaker and the host of "A Very Good Year" podcast. The podcast focuses on choosing your favorite year and exploring the other movies released during that time. It aims to teach you something new about those movies. When your filmmaker you have a broad spectrum of movies and realize that eras are not verbally the case there are movies that have come out during times you would never think would have been made. Like "Clock Work Orange" by Stanley Kubrick that came out in 1971 was a controversial film for its time.

Michael takes us on a journey through various realms of movies and films, showing us the talent of different artists. He highlights that the best way to learn is by seeing the world through the eyes of a filmmaker. If you enjoy exciting and controversial stories, you may have heard of Attica. It was a major uprising that occurred in a New York prison in the early 1970s. "Betrayal at Attica" is a criminal justice documentary available on HBO Max and other platforms. It uncovers the truth about the events that took place on the tragic day at Attica. If you want to check out more Michaels work with his company Fifth film Filmworks you will find so many innovative films, documentaries, and so much more.
