I lived here for SUCH a long time. I knew I wasn't happy, in fact there were long seasons of depression and anxiety as I felt more and more trapped in the struggle. I wanted "better" but I was afraid of what was on the other side. Of how hard I would fall if I tried and didn't succeed. I thought that the other side of #afriad was #successful. What I was missing for a long time was that better is just a baby step towards the life that you want to live and the success that you want to achieve. It takes #courage to step forward before #confidence can arrive. I hope that today, if you relate at all to my story that you will recognize that we weren't designed to live in fear.

How do you define "better"? Most people that aren't happy know what isn't working but they don't know exactly what would fix the problem or where to begin. They often look over the first step, which is simply defining "better". Sometimes our struggle is so dark and so deep that we only have the ability to see to the other side, which might feel like a dream. Turning the dial just a bit towards better will help you move forward towards the future you, you want to be.

Today is the day. I have hesitated to share this story for the entirety of this platform and content. So much so that I have been accused of protecting my abuser. The truth is I do protect my abuser, I also choose to forgive him. Why? Because I have enough love and grit to fill in the the cracks that he left in me AND the ones he's left in himself too. This isn't about me. It's about the overcoming of everything that has come against you. Unfortunately, my story and experience with abuse isn't uncommon and there are many people suffering in silence keeping them from living the life that they deserve.
