Lost Map Podcast

PICTISH TRAIL and LAURA are back for another rummage around the Lost Map universe, catching up on what Johnny got for his birthday, which vital appliances have stopped working in his kitchen, and other pressing matters from island life.

More importantly, they exclusively reveal the full line-up for HUMBUG! 2026 - Lost Map's annual Christmas extravaganza and all-day festive knees-up. Hear who's joining us for this year's party before we shout about it anywhere else.

There's a run-through of all the brand-new music arriving through POSTMAP CLUB this month, from RICK REDBEARD and new signing CAOILFHIONN ROSE, alongside music from PAINTING and the usual assortment of Lost Map news, gossip and tangents.

This month's featured interview is with BOTH HANDS. Hailey Beavis and Brian Pokora talk us through the making of their debut album, Be Like A Mountain In A Moonlit Way - discussing the ideas, sounds and process behind the record and how it all came together. The album is available now on limited-edition LP and CD through Lost Map.

PICTISH TRAIL and LAURA are back to pick through the results of the big LOST MAP SURVEY, finding out how you lot listen to music, how often you buy records, what you think of POSTMAP CLUB, and what the future of Lost Map might look like – including your thoughts on a potential new vinyl subscription.

There's also a full debrief from a busy August, with gossip from GREEN MAN FESTIVAL and tales from all three nights of our HOWLIN' FRINGE series at Leith Cricket Club. And, with summer barely out the door, Johnny and Laura have some exclusive early info on this year's HUMBUG! Christmas show…

There's plenty of new music along the way, including the latest from PICTISH TRAIL and FIRESTATIONS, plus an introduction to COUNT FLORIDA – a brand new signing to Lost Map, bringing some perfectly formed indie-pop into the fold.

PICTISH TRAIL and LAURA look ahead to this month's HOWLIN' FRINGE series at Leith Cricket Club, chatting about the latest additions to the line-up and what to expect across three Wednesday nights live music. They also introduce details of a brand new Lost Map survey, which will invite listeners to share their thoughts on how the label releases music and where it should head next.

There's plenty of new music along the way, including a new single from BOTH HANDS, the return of RICK REDBEARD and a cosmic remix of ISHAAQ AARKISTRA, plus all the usual PostMap Club chat.

This month's featured interview is with Lukas Clasen, aka SULKA - who talks about the making of his new album Bute. Broadcasting from a fairly decent chain hotel somewhere in Newcastle, PICTISH TRAIL shares updates from the road and chats through forthcoming releases from OWEN & THE EYEBALLS and ACOLYTE.

Meanwhile, back at home, LAURA delivers perhaps the clearest explanation of PostMap Club to date, as we also spin fresh tracks from this month’s mailout, including music from SULKA, FIRESTATIONS, and new signing DOVETAILED.

This month, PICTISH TRAIL is joined by LAURA for a chat about the upcoming tour - the logistics, the mild (and not-so-mild) anxieties, and whatever else manages to derail the conversation along the way - with music from this month’s PostMap Club selections woven in throughout. That includes new bits from BOTH HANDS, FAITH ELIOTT and MANUELA, all making appearances between the rambling.

There’s also a feature interview with ISA GORDON, who talks about the making of her new album 8 Men - reworking traditional songs and covers into something far more strange, textural and immersive.

This month, PICTISH TRAIL reflects on a laptop-free escape to Berlin and talks through the making of a particularly slimy new video landing later in March, whilst LAURA gives us some elocution lessons, and scintillating childhood memories of Linford Christie’s Record Breakers. Alongside the usual life updates, there’s fresh PostMap Club music from ISA GORDON, SULKA, and ACOLYTE, plus an archive gem from CLÉMENTINE MARCH to close the show.

Our feature interview sees MALCOLM JACK in conversation with SEAMUS FOGARTY about the making of his new album Ships, out this month.
