Coastal communities in Louisiana are urging the Supreme Court to take their side in a lawsuit against Chevron and other large oil companies, who they say failed to obtain proper approvals for drilling activity. The state and two parishes are pressing the high court to rule that the dispute should stay in state court – a decision that could have implications for similar energy and climate lawsuits nationwide.
