Michael V. Kaplen is a senior partner in the New York personal injury law firm, De Caro & Kaplen, LLP. His practice focuses on personal injury and medical malpractice with an emphasis on representing individuals who have sustained a traumatic or acquired brain injury and other catastrophic injuries. 

Michael is a Professorial Lecturer in Law at The George Washington University Law School where he teaches the only course in the nation devoted to traumatic brain injury law. 

He was an invited by President Obama to be a participant in the 2014, White House Healthy Kids & Safe Sports Concussion Summit and serves as a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Concussion Work Group. 

He served as the Co-Chair of the Tort Section of the New York County Lawyer’s Association and on the Board of Directors of Public Justice. Michael served as a member of the Medical Malpractice Screening Panel, New York State Appellate Division, First and Second Judicial Departments. 

Michael served as a vice president of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and a member of their board of directors. 

Besides his teaching responsibilities at The George Washington University Law School, he has taught courses in trial practice and medical malpractice at St. John's University School of Law and is Clinical Professor of Psychology in the Graduate School of Psychology, Touro College. He is a guest lecturer at The George Washington University School, Graduate School of Education and Human Development and a member of the Board of Advisors, The New York Traumatic Brain Injury Model System Program, Brain Injury Research Center of Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York. 

Michael has been selected a New York Super Lawyer for the last 14 years and named as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in New York State by the American Association of Trial Lawyers. 

Michael is a frequent national lecturer on brain injury advocacy.

His views and opinions are often sort by well-known news sources including, The New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, Gannet News Services, the New York Daily News, the National Law Journal, the New York Post, the Huffington Post, ABC News, CBS News, ESPN, Fox Broadcasting, and NBC News.

 Henry George Gereis was born in Tarzana California, and is the son of Christian Egyptian immigrants. Growing up in the 1990’s, Henry realized his passion for basketball and writing early in life, and had the honor of watching Kobe Bryant’s entire career as an avid Lakers fan. Realizing he was not bound for the NBA, Henry instead channeled Kobe’s work ethic by refining his writing; taking an interest in English and History early in his academic career. Henry was on the principals honor roll throughout elementary, middle, and high school, and was accepted to the University of California Riverside in 2008. At the University of California Riverside, Henry maintained his custom of being on the principals honor roll, on the way to obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in History with an emphasis in Law and Society. Henry went on to accept a scholarship and commit to Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, where he ambitiously completed a joint three year Juris Doctorate/ Masters in Dispute Resolution program, graduating in 2016 from the nations #1 Masters in Dispute Resolution program. It was at Pepperdine that Henry mastered the interest based, “below the line” approach to dispute resolution that is so valuable in negotiating excellent settlements for clients throughout his professional practice. Early in his career Henry practiced Family Law, before transitioning to a practice that fulfilled his desire to serve indigent populations. In order to bring that dream to life, Henry volunteered months of his time at the Santa Barbra Public Defenders Office, before accepting a Deputy Public Defender position at the Kern County Public Defender. Having negotiated thousands of felony and misdemeanor plea deals, and litigated a dozen, Henry’s experience is a testament to his work ethic and commitment to excellence. Bruce Kapsack

 Bruce Kapsack received his BA from Plymouth State College in 1984 and his JD from American University Washington College of Law in 1987. While at WCL, Bruce was hand picked to write, and then argue, an Education for All Handicapped Children Act case before the USCA 4th.  He then left for New York to serve as a Public Defender at the Bronx Legal Aid Society where he rose to Senior Trial Attorney in just 5 years.

Bruce met his wife, Jo, while in the Bronx and followed her to California, where he had his own practice, then was chief prosecutor for the Office of Citizen Complaints before settling down to specialize in DUI.  During the roughly 20 years of DUI practice Mr. Kapsack wrote for Ed Kuwatch’s California Drunk Driving Defense, Larry Taylors California Drunk Driving Law yearly supplements and then his own nationwide best seller, Innovative DUI Trial Tools.

Along the way Bruce has served on the Board of the National College for DUI Defense, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and several other organizations, he nearly 100 published articles and has lectured over 50 times throughout the United States.

Most recently Bruce has decided to go back to public defense serving first as the Assistant Public Defender in Redding California and now running the Truckee Public Defender office.

Arash Homampour is a trial lawyer and founder of The Homampour Law Firm, a nine lawyer firm that represents individuals in catastrophic injury/wrongful death, employment and insurance bad faith matters throughout the State. The Homampour Law Firm is considered one of the top trial law firms in the State with record setting verdicts (twelve 8 figure and fifteen 7 figure verdicts) along with many outlier settlements. His firm has taken on the biggest and most formidable of Defendants, including Volkswagen, Lamborghini, Toyota, Nissan, Sunbeam Products, the State of California, Costco Stores, Farmers Insurance Exchange, Allstate Insurance, Daimler Trucks of North America, and Louisville Ladder. His verdicts and his firm’s settlements are routinely considered to be outlier and record setting.

He was the recipient of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles 2018 Ted Horn Memorial Award, presented to the lawyer who has provided outstanding service to the Association and the legal community. He also received trial attorney of the year awards from the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and the Ventura County Trial Lawyers the Association. In 2007, he was named one of the Top 20 Attorneys Under the Age of 40 by the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
