Terry Wiley is currently running for District Attorney of Alameda County.

Terry had a successful high school football career despite suffering a knee injury in his senior year of high school costing him a football scholarship.  Despite the setback, he was accepted into UC Berkeley based on his academic excellence at Santa Teresa High School in San Jose.  Terry walked on to the football team and by sheer determination and perseverance, Terry was named the starting running back as a sophomore for the UC Berkeley football team.  He also was a sprinter on the UC Berkeley track and field team.

In 1990, Terry began his career with the District Attorney’s Office.  Terry is an Assistant II District Attorney and the No. 3 ranking prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.  Terry is a strong advocate for criminal justice reform and fighting inequalities in the adult and juvenile justice systems.  Terry has vast criminal law experience having served in most significant assignments in the District Attorney’s Office.  

Terry is a highly skilled trial attorney and has a reputation for standing steadfast for justice regardless of the person committing the crime.

Why I Love What I Do: As a law school student, I spent my first summer interning with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department at “Prisoner Legal Services.” Prisoner Legal Services offered me the unique opportunity to work inside of the San Francisco County Jails assisting inmates with their criminal and civil questions. This was an incredible opportunity for me to listen to the stories of the lives of many men and woman incarcerated. This unique experience fueled my desire to work as a zealous advocate for my clients and be an effective and compassionate criminal defense attorney. I will never forget the stories of those whom I met; I carry them with me each day I am, in court fighting for our clients’ rights.

Pamela is an accomplished and experienced Civil Rights attorney.  She has litigated and won substantial settlements and verdicts against the California Department of Corrections, the City of Oakland, the County of Sonora, and AMTRAK, among many others.

She is one of the few African American women to have argued a case in front of the United States Supreme Court.

My desire to practice law began after I graduated from UC Berkeley. While traveling in Europe after graduating, I discovered an innate desire to help less fortunate people. The experiences overseas helped me focus my career on social goals and leveling the playing field for those who needed someone to fight for their rights. I have fulfilled that vision by volunteering at legal clinics throughout the bay area early in my career.

During law school, I worked full time at law firms. It was through this work experience that I gained knowledge in a variety of practice areas. Due to my exposure in many areas of law, I was able to open my own practice immediately after obtaining my California state bar license. Now, I litigate cases in Family Law, Criminal Law and Civil Law.

The delicate balance of giving my time to the community and building a strong clientele base has proven to those who use my services that whether or not there is a financial incentive in my work, the quality is never compromised.
