Annie Beles has tried over 50 cases to jury verdict and handled hundreds more.  Most of her trials have involved serious felony charges.  She relishes fighting for her clients.  Growing up in a legal community family, she started working in her dad's law office as a teenager.

For the last twenty years, I have been going to court and honing the craft of lawyering. I have been saving people from the smallest of traffic fines, domestic violence charges, assault charges, serious sexual assault allegations, murder trials, and all the way to convincing prosecutors not to seek the death penalty.

I try cases. Period.

I have tried 50 jury trials, only 5 of those being misdemeanors. As of December 2019, I have tried 25 homicide trials. A local judge once told me, “one homicide trial is the equivalent experience of 20 misdemeanor trials,” and I tend to agree with him. I have been presented with complex factual and legal problems throughout my career on all of my cases, but a two month murder trial gives me experience far beyond that of a three day DUI trial. I am at the ready to use that knowledge and those skills for you or your loved one.

Phil Vaughns describes growing up in Oakland, attending and playing football at Skyline High School, going on to Cal State Hayward (East Bay) before attending McGeorge Law School.  He had an unusual first job experience in Vienna, Austria. That was where his mother's insistence that he learn some German earlier in life came in handy. Phil served in the Alameda County DA's office and the Office of the United States Attorney for the Northern District of California in Oakland. He now has an active Immigration and Criminal practice in Hayward.

Eric Swalwell represents the California 15th Congressional District.  As a former Alameda County Deputy District Attorney he brings his Courtroom skills to Washington DC.  Eric played Division 1 Soccer at Campbell University, graduated from the University of Maryland and also earned his law degree there.  He was elected to serve on the Dublin City Council and before that the Dublin Arts Commission.  He is married with two young children and a dog (we'll hear a little from all of them).

If you're reading the Chron and you see an intro that's just so off-the-wall that it makes your head spin and say "who wrote this?" be aware that Steve Rubenstein probably is the answer. Steve's a longtime columnist and reporter at San Francisco's flagship paper. He plays harmonica and guitar, and he found that by simply pushing one pedal down and then the other, and repeating, he was able to cross the United States of America on a bicycle. He covered the Patty Hearst trial as a cub reporter and had a unique method of filing his stories.
