The Machiavellian spirit of narcissistic false self can cover a number of mask that those with a narcissistic personality can wear.  When one is described as, "Machiavellian," he or she is described as a person who is deceptive and crafty.  The functionality of the various masks of narcissists becomes very complex, if you attempt to make sense of the of crazy making.  One function of fear is to ensure blindness of what is true and what is reality.  The seductive words of the false self-image can be appealing until or unless one challenges the narcissist or the cluster B personality.  During a narcissistic rage or narcissistic injury episode, the words of the narcissist or cluster B personality turns from appealing to abusive, however; those who are on the receiving end will possibly believe and internalize the lies spoken about him or her.  Another function of fear is to encourage one to become anxious about who they are, his or her future and life in general.  As long as the narcissist and cluster B personality can keep targeted prey in a state of anxiety and pandemonium (confusion), the false self-image become stronger.

Please understand, and overstand that when a scapegoat ritual is being conducted, there’s a ritualistic sacrifice that’s being done. It’s a form of energy harvesting.  Unlike the sacrificial lamb a scapegoat is being offered up by a group for that group as a sacrifice against their will.  Your Escape from narcissistic family is to be celebrated as the real GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) that you are. Use visualization to help yourself see how far you’ve come as you accept that you’ve done something great like outgrow narcissistic relationships. Continue to thrive and be great! Discontinue expecting your family of origin to see you as anyone positive or see that you can represent anything positive. Ironically, it is those who might have mistreated you in the narcissistic family system as those who could not overcome their own personal challenges and projected them onto you by tagging you as scapegoat. There’s nothing great about that!

The narcissistic family often teaches, grooms and prepares the scapegoated child for future narcissistic and other types of dysfunctional relationships.  Unfortunately, narcissistic relationships can become appealing to those who are scapegoated within a narcissistic family due to it being familiar to him or her.

The narcissistic family tree functions like a narcissistic family system.  A picture of the scapegoated child's family tree turns from a picture of pride to a picture worth a thousand lies.  Those who have been scapegoated in a narcissistic family structure might feel cheated out of growing up in a family of love, stability, acceptance and validation.

Did you know that the identified patient within the dysfunctional family is selected to outsource dysfunction?  Narcissistic family scapegoat children are selected for the same reason.  The identified patient in a dysfunctional family is often considered the black sheep and this is one of the many challenges that children who are unfortunately tagged to play the dysfunctional role of scapegoat also faces.  The narcissistic family system is designed to silence those who have been selected as scapegoat when he or she was a child.  His or her family might hold them to an unrealistic expectation such as taking dark secrets to the grave.

When narcissistic family scapegoat child learns the power of expression as he or she grows up, narcissistic parents and or grandparents might perceive him or her as becoming, "too different," to control.  The personality structure of scapegoated children is often perceived by NPD parents as a challenge.  Narcissists do not like change therefore, more than likely not be supportive of their adult child choosing to use his or her voice and expressing how he or she is experiencing the narcissistic relationship.
