Welcome to Lunacy; where we discern the sacred from the insane and admit that whether we like it or not, we are all profoundly affected by the cycles of the moon.
In this episode, I’m joined by my good friend, Erez Ascher. Erez is a systemic wellness advisor and author. We talk about his book “Feel. Love. Now…”, which provides step-by-step instructions for you to discover and develop your own internal guidance system — directing you in each moment towards the life of stability and wellness that you most deeply desire for yourself. We discuss the power and influence of our beliefs on our lives, how fear is the opposite of love, thoughts on heart opening plant medicines, and more!

We’ll be looking at teachings from great spiritual leaders like the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, and exploring how a shift in perspective can help us build better relationships and find more joy in life. Welcome to Lunacy; where we discern the sacred from the insane and admit that whether we like it or not, we are all profoundly affected by the cycles of the moon.
In this episode, I welcome my good friend, Leo Mercado. Leo is a botanist, a peyote expert, and the staff cultivation director and public liaison for the Morning Star Conservancy. We dive deep into the history of peyote, challenges around conservation, its uses, the culture around it, origin stories, and so much more!
The Morning Star Conservancy was formed to protect and sustainably care for peyote. Morning Star intends to educate those invested in protecting threatened habitats, ecosystems, and species about Peyote and its native ecosystem. Furthermore, Morning Star Conservancy intends to acquire land through purchase and land conservation easements in the Rio Grande Valley region of south Texas in order to protect the sensitive natural habitat of this rare and precious cactus. The vision is that the conservancy will be a living model of sustainable practices in today’s complex relationship between human society and nature.

Welcome to Lunacy; where we discern the sacred from the insane and admit that whether we like it or not, we are all profoundly affected by the cycles of the moon.
Last episode, we dove into the environmental risks and hazards of the proposed Idaho Maryland Mine in Grass Valley, CA.
Tune in to hear about how the community is coming together and getting involved in local politics to prevent the mine from hurting the local environment. Tony Lauria and I approach the situation with the appropriate amount of Lunacy, and share important details while being as lighthearted as we can be about the subject.
Even if you’re not a local to Grass Valley, this is an opportunity to learn about the progress of the community in their fight to keep the project at bay. This is a story about how the people living in ground zero of an area where a company is trying to push through a proposal without sincere consideration for the actual impact. Local homes could potentially lose their well water, a primary concern that hasn’t been adequately addressed by the proposed environmental impact report.
Tony Lauria and I also talk with Christine Hubbard, a local activist, about how we can get involved and keep fighting against the Rise Gold mine. She talks about the opportunities for the community to engage with the county. The board and the planning commissions meet every two weeks and allow for public comments. There will also a public hearing about the final environmental impact report, zoning changes, and more, as soon as February.

In this episode I’m joined by Tony Lauria on a topic near and dear to both of our hearts and homes, the dangerous Rise Gold mining venture in Grass Valley, CA. Mines have historically had negative impacts on local communities, harming the local waterways, environment, and communities, and this one is no different. My song, “Wells Run Dry” was written as a rallying call for us to take action and prevent the damage to our water, homes, and ecosystem. For more information about the mine, visit

Stick around at the end of the episode to see and or listen to my song about the mine, “Wells Run Dry”.

Welcome to Lunacy; where we discern the sacred from the insane and admit that whether we like it or not, we are all profoundly affected by the cycles of the moon.
Today, I’m talking about two elemental forces in our world: greed and love. Let’s start by talking about the “love operating system”, and explore the root causes of greed. How can we unravel the beliefs we have around scarcity, identity, and unhealed wounds to free ourselves from the power of greed? When we transform our relationship with greed and choose to live from a place of love, we have incredible power to transform our relationships with each other and the planet.

Join me in a discussion with Sterling Hawkins, author of “Hunting Discomfort”, a book about finding growth, innovation and results — regardless of what’s in the way. Sterling is an author, investor and entrepreneur, but most importantly a keynote speaker and founder of the #NoMatterWhat movement. Sterling shows people how to achieve the results they want regardless of the circumstances.
We all know that discomfort is inevitable. In this episode, we dive deep into how to take that discomfort upfront so that you and I can be conscious participants in our own growth and healing. Remember that “we cannot change anything unless we accept it.”
We also take a deep dive into the love operating system and get to know how it is that you and I can truly fall in love with our own lives
