Remember about 6 months ago how Rachel and Kate dogged you about filling out a survey about your employment, salary, benefits, and everything else in between? The answers were counted, and categorized so we could run some statistics on all this information. Over 800 people answered, and we have learned a ton. We know some things: there is a wage gap in Optometry. And it is bigger than we thought. But we also learned there are things we can do about it. The biggest thing we learned is that there are more women now than ever in Optometry, and it is time for us to be compensated as equals.
