  • On the couch: Wijnland Auto Museum
The Wijnland Auto Museum just off the N1 near Joostenberg Vlakte on the way out of Cape Town has been described variously as a scrapyard or as a quirky collection of classic cars. From the highway, on the outside, you will first notice a small aeroplane and then some rusty old vehicles ... but if you make the effort to visit, inside the many large sheds, you will find the most incredible assortment of sleek and beautiful working vintage vehicles.
The museum is the brainchild and passion of 87-year-old Les Boshoff, who began collecting the wide range of cars since 1984 - from Jaguars to Lamborghinis, Corvettes, and much more.  A car enthusiast's dream.
There are over 300 classic cars - some in better condition than others - the largest collection in Cape Town.
The oldest running car is a 1910 Buick of which there are apparently only 5 in existence worldwide that still can be driven.

  • Music with Nitzsche
Nitzsche is a brand new South African artist with big dreams.
She was born in the small town of Sabie in Mpumalanga and grew up in Mbombela or Nelspruit as it was then known.
Her family isn't musical, but at about the age of 8, she started taking singing lessons and dreamed of becoming a musician one day.
When she finished Matric, she moved down to Cape Town with her parents, and apart from a brief stint back in Mbombela where she still has family, she's lived here ever since.
Nitzsche works in her family business, but when she met the award-winning producer, Kyle Petersen, her very first single took shape and Deja Vu was released in early August.

But it's also a platform to inform and educate them on current best practices in the industry internationally.

  • Michaelis art student silent auction
UCT's Michaelis School of Fine Art graduate class of 2021 will be holding their annual silent auction from tomorrow at 14h, to midnight on Thursday. It aims to raise funds for two projects.  The Materials Bursary fund is used for students who can't afford to buy all the material they need to make their artwork.
And some of the money also goes towards the Graduate Catalogue which is produced each year as a sort of CV for the class as they complete their studies and head out into the real world. There are about 150 artworks up for grabs.
And the auction offers collectors an opportunity to acquire not only work by emerging young artists but also that of household names like Jane Alexander, Beezy Bailey, or Mary Sibande who have donated artwork to the initiative.
To find out more about the event, we're joined by Jet Withers, a final-year student majoring in sculpture.
