There are two types of realities around us today, the physical and the spiritual. One we can see and the other we sense but rarely see. Even though much of the spiritual world is a mystery to us that doesn't mean that it isn't dangerous. I believe when David wrote in Psalms 23:4 he was speaking about that spiritual battle that all of us face. While the valley can be a place that takes a toll on us it can also be a place where God teaches us some of the greatest lessons about who He is and whom we are. In this sermon we seek to understand the knowledge that God taught David while in the valley.

Sheep are the most often mentioned animal in the Bible coming in at over 500 times. Of those over 500 times many of those references are not referring to an animal at all, but to a person, and the application comes back to us. When we hear some of the innuendos that go along with sheep that can be insulting, but not if you look at sheep in Biblical terms. They were innocent animals that would sometimes made mistakes that made them look foolish, but they were also very wise when it came to being directed and cared for. In this sermon we are looking at Psalm 23:2-3 from the perspective of the Shepherd (the Lord). There are three things that these two verses teach us about walking with the Lord that can comfort us about who it is that leads us. I. His Closeness. II. His Care. III. His Cause.

Psalm 23 is one of the greatest Psalms in the collection, its one that we learn when we are young and the one that we hear the most when we lose a loved one. Within this Psalm is the reality of life, it has the deep valleys of death as well as the mountains peeks of glory. It was written from the heart of a shepherd about the Good Shepherd, and if we study it there are many great things we can find out about our Lord. In this sermon we see three things about the heart of King David, the author of the Psalm. I. The Perspective of David's Heart. (Vs. 1). II. The Objective of David's Heart. (Vs. 1). III. The Reflective of David’s Heart. (Vs. 1).

We've all seen what the power of rain can do, but unless you've been in a true natural disaster you will never understand the true power of the elements are. There are some storms that come and we are prepared for them, others come from nowhere and we are caught unaware. Just like a storm that we know is coming Jesus compares the coming judgment of man to a storm, and what happens to him depends upon what type of foundation he has built his life upon. In Matthew 7:21-27 we see three things that Jesus wanted to teach His disciples and all of mankind about being prepared for that judgment so that we can go to heaven. I. A Fraud's Failure. (Vs. 21-23). II. A Firm Foundation. (Vs. 24-25). III. A Faulty Foundation. (Vs. 26-27).

Trails and time have a way of changing the way we look in the mirror, the also have a way changing the way we look at ourselves. No matter where we are in our life, the most comfortable place or the most difficult we cant convince time to stand still or keep trials from coming. In Romans 1:16-17 there are 3 things that help us understand this text and the power behind it. I. The Personal Context. II. The Historical Context. III. The Application.

Many times the conditions have to be just right for things to go just right. When God set the stage for the birth of His Church He left nothing to chance. Every detail was planned down to the moment, the man preaching, and the miracles that would follow. None of us as a Christian should want to sit back and see our live become a flame that burns out, but how do we turn that into a wildfire no matter the situations that surround us? In Acts 2 we see Scriptural blueprint for the greatest movement of God in history, if we want to see that again then we too must prepare ourselves. I. Prayer (Vs. 1) II. Power (Vs. 2-4) III. Purpose. (Vs. 5-8, 37-41)

Most of us have found something in life that we are willing to give our life for, and it will usually boil down to two things; family and faith. When we look at the New Testament and the birth of the Church it comes down to a group of people that decided that they were willing to put their lives on the line to see the power of God come alive in others. They did something that would have seemed impossible, and created a movement that is still sweeping the earth today. In this message we look at the question of what made them so different, what made it possible for them to do something so great and can we do it again. In Matthew 28:16-20 we see that; I. Men as We Are. (Vs. 16-17). II. Choices as We Have. (18-19). III. Jesus as He is. (Vs. 20).

We've all made a choice in life that later on we kicked ourselves for not taking, some were major decisions, some minor. Now think for a minute if Jesus would have chosen not to follow through with the plan to redeem mankind, what if He had chosen not to die on the cross? What then? We know that Jesus was in agreement with the Father because Jesus is part of the Godhead, but it was a decision that He made to come to earth and die for our sins. In this sermon we take a look at that decision, and how it actually played out in one of the events of His earthly ministry. In Matthew 26:47-56 we see that Jesus had to deal with; I. Difficult People. (Vs. 47-49), II. Difficult Positions. (Vs. 50-52). III. Divine Providence. (Vs. 53-56).

Everywhere you go something is telling you what you need to make you better, but have you noticed that with all this help that it just seems like we're worse off today than we ever were? We are so busy listening to all these voices that we have become to busy to listen to the only voice that matters, the voice of God. In this sermon we see how that Adam and Eve made what seemed like just a simple choice, but it changed all of mankind forever and how that choice rippled down to us. I. The Con. (Vs. 1-5). II. The Choice (Vs. 6). III. The Collapse. (Vs. 7-10). IV. The Cure. (Vs. 14-15).

If someone tells us that something will harm us, but we disregard it we shouldn't blame them when it does. So, why do we do that to God, our actions have consequences! God made agreements with men over and over again in the Old Testament, but men were never able to keep their end of the bargain. In Jeremiah the final straw breaks the camel’s back as Judah is captured and beloved Jerusalem is laid waste. Chapter 31 is the promise to the exiles as well as to us that God has not forgotten His people, nor will He choose to let our sins outweigh His grace. This Scriptures shows us; I. God Initiates the Contract. (Vs. 31). II. God Identified the Contrast. (Vs. 32). III. God Inhabits the Consecrated. (Vs. 33).
