By this point in the book of Jonah the prophet has went through the entire gauntlet of emotions; rebellion, repentance, revival and now we find him in a place of remorse. The great Ninevites that he had wanted to see destroyed had repented and God relented, showed mercy and didn't destroy them. This was hard for Jonah to swallow, a man that should have been rejoicing in revival was overcome with outrage. In chapter 4 God takes Jonah through a process to show him and us that grace is not ours to give. I. Jonah's Protest. (Vs. 1-4), II. Jonah's Providence. (Vs. 5-8) III. Jonah's Problem. (Vs. 9-11).

Every one of us has a moment in our lives that if given the opportunity we would go back and fix our mistake, if given a second chance or a do-over we would correct our failure. With people we don't always get that chance, but when it comes to God we serve a God of second chances. In chapter 3 God gives Jonah a chance to fix the failure that he had made in chapter 1. In this sermon we see how that God can use anyone that He chooses to us as well as how that He can reach anyone that He chooses to reach. I. The Recommission of a Prophet. (Vs. 1-2). II. The Repentance of a People. (Vs. 3-5).

Jonah's rebellion and choice to run from God ended with him being cast into the sea and being swallowed by a large fish. At this point the story of Jonah could have ended, if not for a miracle there would have been no chance for him to change his position with God. Although, he was running as fast as he could to get away from God we see that grace was running even faster. God had prepared and planned a way of redemption for Jonah before he even found himself in the sea. In our trials and troubles, we may think that God is trying to destroy us, while most times God is trying to define us, to bring about a change that will make us into what He desires for us to be. In Jonah chapter 2 we see; I. Jonah Chastened by God. (Vs. 1-3), II. Jonah Confesses to God. (Vs. 4-7), and III. Jonah Commits Himself to God. (Vs. 8-10).

Every one of us at one point and time has tried to run from God, but what we don't consider is that no matter where we go there is nowhere that God isn't aware of us. In the life of Jonah, we see the relentless grace of God played out firsthand, no matter how hard he ran God kept pursuing him. When I look at the life of Jonah I see the life of a believer and how important it is for us to follow the will of God. In this sermon from Jonah chapter 1 we take a look at; I. Every Believer has a Call. (Vs. 1-2), II. Every Believer has a Choice. (Vs. 3) Every Choice has Consequences. 9Vs. 4-10) III. Every Believer has a Collision. (Vs. 11-17)

What would you do if everything you had ever dreamed for came true? I think all of us have thought about this at one point in our life. Then the bigger problem is what do we do with the blessings once they come? In Deuteronomy 8:10-14 Moses gives us a warning about how we handle the blessings of God, and how they can handle us. What tends to happen when we find ourselves overcome with blessings is that we forget the one who blessed us. As we see in this passage: I. The Blessings of God. (Vs. 10) The Warnings of God. (Vs. 11-14, 19) both are an issue of the heart.

When hardships come we have two choices; we can either give up or we can trust in God and fight through them. Joel, like many of the prophets had a difficult message to share, one that could either change the course of Judah or cement their fate. No matter where you stand at this moment you’re eventually going to come to a place similar to what Joel preached about, a moment out of your control where God requires you to choose. In Joel 2:12-17 we see three things; I. The Conditions of Repentance. (Vs. 12-13), II. The Qualifications of Grace. (Vs. 14) and III. The Preparation for Blessings. (Vs. 15-17).

In all that God created mankind was the only being that was given a living soul. Created in the very image of God we are special to Him. He has made it clear from those very first moments that He had a plan for us, but sometimes that is hard to see and even harder to believe. We want to know that in a world of almost 8 billion people that we matter, that someone hears us and that we are known! In Isaiah 65 God answers Isaiah's plea to rescue Judah from the coming judgment, but not in a way that many expected. He further reveals His redemptive plan for mankind through reaching the Gentiles in Christ Jesus. In verses 1-2 we see; I. God Initiated Our Relationship. (Vs. 1), II. God Invested in Our Relationship. (Vs. 1-2), III. Man's Ignorance in Our Relationship. (Vs. 2).

No matter where we come from or how old we are we all have a desire to be loved. When bad things happen in life it often makes us wonder, does God love us? When Paul wrote the book of Romans there were a lot of reasons that people would be asking this question. Both the Jews and the Romans hated the Christians, they had killed Jesus and many of His followers and it was a struggle to live a godly life. They needed encouragement, just like many of us do today. Times may have changed, but the need to know that God loves us has not. In this message from Romans 5:5-8 we see that; I. Jesus' Love is Unquenchable. (Vs. 5), II. Jesus' Love is Unconditional. (Vs. 6), III. Jesus Love is Unquestionable. (Vs. 7-8).

The Church is God's unique creation, meant to thrive as a body of believers bound together by basic beliefs and principles. But what is it that makes us so unique, what makes us so much different than other religions, groups and practices? As Paul wrote Romans, he set out to deal with that very issue; he wanted those early believers to understand what Jesus had done for them in the work of salvation, what was expected of them as Christians, and what they had to look forward to in Heaven. In this sermon we look at Romans 8:10-18 and see: I. We Are Alive through the Spirit. (Vs. 13-15), II. We Are Adopted as Sons. (Vs. 14-15), III. We Are Appointed as Joint-heirs. (Vs. 16-18).

Biblical stewardship is using God given abilities to manage God given resources, to accomplish God ordained results. So much of the Bible talks about this very thing because God knew that we had a heart problem. He knew that these things had the ability to draw our hearts away from Him if not kept in proper perspective. In this sermon we look at how our stewardship plays an important role in our eternal relationship with Jesus Christ. Matthew 25:31-46: I. The Judge. (Vs. 31-33), II. The Just. (Vs. 34-40), III. The Unjust. (Vs. 41-46).
