This week on Macklin's Take me and Matt welcomed new British Light Heavyweight champion Dan Azeez to the podcast.

Dan turned in a dazzling display a couple of weeks back to claim the Lonsdale belt and having already won the Southern Area and English titles has done it the traditional way.

He's an old school fighter who, like his hero Marvelous Marvin Hagler, just wants to give the public the fights they want to see and mix it with any and all of the other British 175lb fighters.

We love his attitude and it was a pleasure to have him on.

It's the Return of the King :)

Our Franchise champion, the one and only Jon Pegg, had a brief sojourn in hospital recently so we thought the perfect tonic for him would be another appearance on MT.

And he was on fine form as usual.

We got into a number of subjects, including what it's like running small hall shows post Covid, something Jon's doing with great success, and why it is that although everyone seems to love the Rocky films, they seem to be less keen on real life Rockys.

As usual with the Peggmeister, it got deep.

After being away for the last couple of week's at the Men's World Amateur Championships in Belgrade me and Matt decided to delve deep into the amateur code in this episode.

We wanted to talk about all levels, from club to country to elite international level, and we wanted someone with some longevity too, someone who's been around the sport for longer than us and who basically knows better than us.

And we had the perfect man for the job in Kelvyn Travis.

This week me and Matt are joined by top boxing manager Sam Jones.

Sam has become a very familiar figure with British fight fans over the last few years and someone we've seen around a lot.

But we only ever really knew him just to say hello to so thought it was time we found out a bit more about the man who co-founded the very successful SJAM an who has recently become one of Probellum's big new signings.

And unsurprisingly his back story is a very interesting one, starting pretty much with a nerve-shredding make or break five minute meeting with none other than Floyd Mayweather! Sam was in at the deep end and has stayed there ever since.

After the Fury vs Wilder trilogy concluded in Las Vegas at the weekend, just two weeks after we saw Usyk beat Joshua, we decided it was time to delve into the Heavyweight division and see how the land lies now those 2 results are in.
