Madison Beer's new album "Locket" isn’t just a title — it’s a symbol. The "Bad Enough" artist joined Ryan Seacrest in-studio on Friday, January 23, to celebrate the release of her latest album and shared the album title started simply and instinctively.
“It was just a word — it sounds stupid — but I just really liked that word," Madison said. "It felt feminine. It felt vintage. It felt metaphorical … you can hold memories and keepsakes. ... It just all developed naturally.”
Madison added that a locket is the perfect metaphor for reflecting on her musical journey and growth as an artist who was first signed at age 12.
“I’ve spoken about albums and cycles and eras and sometimes it feels like you release something and put it on a shelf and you move on from it … but it’s always part of you and exists — and a locket is that literal item.”
Madison also reflected on being dropped by her first label at age 16 and shared how the experience "definitely reframed my perceptive" and that she's "grateful for [the] fans who have stuck through it all."
So, who is in her actual locket?
“My cats [are] in there," she joked, referring to her beloved kitties Mookie and Maple.
